I am really trying to post to this blog more often but job and entertainment keep getting in the way . But I did manage to start some Christmas gift making.<br />
I have a girlfriend who loves unusual and flashy jewelry. So I thought of a design that might fit her.<br />
I recently saw a necklace design on Pinterest that I thought I could use for inspiration.<br />
It spurred me on to make this for her. Since I have recently decided to do more metal smithing and learn all I can it was a good chance to try it out on a small scale.<br />
<br />
It is by no means real "smithing". But it's a start.<br />
<br />
I drew out the pattern and cut it out with shears (don't have a saw yet):<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3eCby7loRmzSbkJxhlVJV4iqi9qZJpDCiEJdIXXSUyrQ08YYyW2cflwfnYI_tTiMLKhHbTz0bfSr2vJ_aDvIe18pfdxVJ2Wz087R7jTBXTFGPJLYIiCsbh6VZU_5cPA3UKT3AQ99j6qQ/s1600/IMG_3158.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3eCby7loRmzSbkJxhlVJV4iqi9qZJpDCiEJdIXXSUyrQ08YYyW2cflwfnYI_tTiMLKhHbTz0bfSr2vJ_aDvIe18pfdxVJ2Wz087R7jTBXTFGPJLYIiCsbh6VZU_5cPA3UKT3AQ99j6qQ/s320/IMG_3158.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I wanted to put beads where all the little marks are but decided that was too safe for this girl. I tried all kinds of beads that just didn't feel right like these below:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo0rSZZlCwCLuVhBxIV-_aNbEgBTSScoucla4oBDBGICCPWWd0GXOY-NFWbw2_Obg0cFnyBkM8YolMtNQnBJurMHXYxAg2zPxS9zYA6x8uO8o96oysjf3NvYvp31llyyHlqeC9KoMCqn8/s1600/IMG_3166.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="183" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo0rSZZlCwCLuVhBxIV-_aNbEgBTSScoucla4oBDBGICCPWWd0GXOY-NFWbw2_Obg0cFnyBkM8YolMtNQnBJurMHXYxAg2zPxS9zYA6x8uO8o96oysjf3NvYvp31llyyHlqeC9KoMCqn8/s320/IMG_3166.JPG" width="320" /></a> Kind of liked these but not enough of them.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF3gitvS9ZsUHC3QstD1OEeEvSOsP5QizIeY4LfpQvdD5f1zX8gsWBmXaXYGeaCYx7VzInFdpQYxyAqAkPJus0NRcF-xDTJGuYpGnlhHw049v0GmClVx15cYSwmqmcBvTtNOmVP3kLeDY/s1600/IMG_3163.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF3gitvS9ZsUHC3QstD1OEeEvSOsP5QizIeY4LfpQvdD5f1zX8gsWBmXaXYGeaCYx7VzInFdpQYxyAqAkPJus0NRcF-xDTJGuYpGnlhHw049v0GmClVx15cYSwmqmcBvTtNOmVP3kLeDY/s320/IMG_3163.jpg" width="320" /></a> These just don't look right.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH7eM74cj1AorJTn616U-CLZlYBEQHNIR_Bxk3Y00bKdC7MlVgBQK6xc1ZRY_NrJJnsvGivSiPMQaM6Uqk8ebX6U02xlJQgEMH9VuIMn_CG87-EmHYnWLekMqXGntXLOZEMMTMzSvWVXE/s1600/IMG_3159.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH7eM74cj1AorJTn616U-CLZlYBEQHNIR_Bxk3Y00bKdC7MlVgBQK6xc1ZRY_NrJJnsvGivSiPMQaM6Uqk8ebX6U02xlJQgEMH9VuIMn_CG87-EmHYnWLekMqXGntXLOZEMMTMzSvWVXE/s320/IMG_3159.jpg" width="320" /></a> These were too feminine with the metal.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I used a vintage necklace that I got at an antique store and took it apart for the brass beads and voila!!! there it was. See what you think:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It's really weird how the metal plate looks so different in different light. I hammered the hell out of it, then annealed it for more fire scale and finally sanded it. I still have more sanding and polishing (not too much polishing) to do. But I love how it turned out and I think she will too.<br />
<br />
<br />
I bought an old watch with the insides still there and couldn't decide what to do with it. I finally had an idea (although not a really unique one). I used resin to fill the face and then added some rhinestone chain around the face. The beads I used are some very old grungy looking carved stone beads. They are a light greenish color with discoloration on a lot of them. For me that's cool as I like old looking stuff. What do you think:<br />
<br />

I know i've been gone a long time. Moving, getting settled, getting a new job, a new house etc. etc. etc. Well, i'm so sorry about that and now i'm trying to get back in the habit. It's not like I have a million followers or anything but I have felt bad about being shady and not blogging.<br />
<br />
I have not stopped making jewelry just blogging about it. So this is my attempt to get back to the blogging world. So much has happened in my life that it's even hard to remember. I guess we all go through things and there is no getting around that.<br />
<br />
So if any of you who followed me are still here please forgive the interruption and stay with me as I try to re-vamp my blog and start showing some of my creations.<br />
<br />
Have any of you bloggers out there ever just had to give up blogging for awhile? if so please leave me a comment to let me know how you got back into it. I would greatly appreciate it.<br />
<br />
Thank you!!! and please stand by for some pics of my jewelry and some of my latest vintage jewelry finds. I recently found the most fabulous little store that sells nothing but vintage and antique jewelry. The owner is so knowledgeable about his wares and of vintage and antique jewelry. I can't seem to stay away from the place. It has become an addiction!<br />

so I promised to show ya'll some of the beads I bought from a vendor in Canton Texas at First Monday. For those who don't know First Monday is a gigantic flea market where you can buy anything from beads to antique furniture to delicious junk food and to everything in between. I have been twice and i still haven't seen the whole place!<br />
<br />
So anyway, my in laws were visiting this past week end and we decided to go again. i of course only wanted to go to buy more beads from that vendor. I made another haul. And although I don't know for sure all of the beads I bought the vendor seems pretty good at identifying them.<br />
<br />
So here goes and I will tell you that these pics don't do justice to most of these beads:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Below is a green turquoise. Love the shape and the variations of color in these. There's brown, pink, white, green, black.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSvzNbAuILY8TUDXkkV9m4RTI6WRZtAbo8nV1zNEil55oKhiWg9JI7Ojv0X7md2ag46A4T59hFVujPRgvc-qNXm8XlXy9q_opGpydYatImbx5NBozqZBduwAPVKZdvbTrKMGy4JaHjPvo/s1600/IMG_2392.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSvzNbAuILY8TUDXkkV9m4RTI6WRZtAbo8nV1zNEil55oKhiWg9JI7Ojv0X7md2ag46A4T59hFVujPRgvc-qNXm8XlXy9q_opGpydYatImbx5NBozqZBduwAPVKZdvbTrKMGy4JaHjPvo/s1600/IMG_2392.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Next is clear quartz nuggets. They are a really nice sized nuggets and very heavy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEJrCpj2Fpd1jd27vGG5EZdkCrc_yv6SKCTBmHkuFC8qCgqRU6_zA514Ow-svM3UBAkzFifYJLGIjQbCaKsyOHfTky-FCJZuXtY_G-vvXPoP8HQMT6qWu7-zjsFvuR6vMrDSSQi5XYJWQ/s1600/IMG_2393.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEJrCpj2Fpd1jd27vGG5EZdkCrc_yv6SKCTBmHkuFC8qCgqRU6_zA514Ow-svM3UBAkzFifYJLGIjQbCaKsyOHfTky-FCJZuXtY_G-vvXPoP8HQMT6qWu7-zjsFvuR6vMrDSSQi5XYJWQ/s1600/IMG_2393.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
These babies below are the most beautiful shade of turquoise turquoise. They remind me of robbins eggs. Large. I think they would make an extraordinary necklace.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7mF-ulNzL0ZTNAUEJjPYULW4QwnkXwK8JQQLgt76dPEhHTHMxLvpFh1Q0NjT9oxNM8mVxkCaKcMgFEzlbtJ26XlNrWOLH4KAqMxhknIRCtjI60VNgEti-Xf5QN4b1nopeVtCDIZXkgBg/s1600/IMG_2394.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7mF-ulNzL0ZTNAUEJjPYULW4QwnkXwK8JQQLgt76dPEhHTHMxLvpFh1Q0NjT9oxNM8mVxkCaKcMgFEzlbtJ26XlNrWOLH4KAqMxhknIRCtjI60VNgEti-Xf5QN4b1nopeVtCDIZXkgBg/s1600/IMG_2394.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Below, these round discs are chalk turquoise. They are a very light shade of blue. The vendor explained to me that chalk turquoise is real turquoise but it's crushed and then put back together in different shapes of beads. I love these beads and think they'd make a show-stopper of a necklace.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3aeVXeuSoIAX39-2izOfcFhTGZnrSeaLH7hHSeFI5tri7vcF-HBYM4ddVempGFgrz6IqDkM3D88zNsg48zAop0HAP89ApNGh6TpQWFJr607PMWIOwx67KaRRKVFYrC_K9SdrjEMrz1iU/s1600/IMG_2403.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3aeVXeuSoIAX39-2izOfcFhTGZnrSeaLH7hHSeFI5tri7vcF-HBYM4ddVempGFgrz6IqDkM3D88zNsg48zAop0HAP89ApNGh6TpQWFJr607PMWIOwx67KaRRKVFYrC_K9SdrjEMrz1iU/s1600/IMG_2403.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is more turquoise. The color is gorgeous but it didn't come out well in a picture. These beads have holes that would cause the beads to lay in triangles. I don't think that came out right but you can see at the bottom how the holes run.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2Go8izZST16YAIK-DihaaCGok9UXylsL5p6K1qYCdpEP6aZI_IWUFpynMtkF-_wTir3HykHPb1U2ajksqBQZXypbrEKYxvh2g2FvXPUqg9ZmIBAYqsNuIpBht0E5ckFMNLz000jVEAto/s1600/IMG_2407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2Go8izZST16YAIK-DihaaCGok9UXylsL5p6K1qYCdpEP6aZI_IWUFpynMtkF-_wTir3HykHPb1U2ajksqBQZXypbrEKYxvh2g2FvXPUqg9ZmIBAYqsNuIpBht0E5ckFMNLz000jVEAto/s1600/IMG_2407.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then there's these babies below. They are barrel shaped turquoise beads!! They have cracks and everything. These are mine, mine, mine!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiALbaulg5QvUqBGSzOHPoOmw-BtPUENdKTQx1OjYEgyT6Ui4Yj-ycgm_J7jCmWJNr4r6_Rdv84dfHpGFZdiZe7AKn9sBxXXpnqhQQ5cCK9EKBtnL5qOp0IwgKD01PayawwzYbjo2XUa0/s1600/IMG_2402.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiALbaulg5QvUqBGSzOHPoOmw-BtPUENdKTQx1OjYEgyT6Ui4Yj-ycgm_J7jCmWJNr4r6_Rdv84dfHpGFZdiZe7AKn9sBxXXpnqhQQ5cCK9EKBtnL5qOp0IwgKD01PayawwzYbjo2XUa0/s1600/IMG_2402.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
These beads are a beautiful shape and vary in size. They are agate and the color variations are beautiful. From black to brown to grey to off-white. Lovely.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuCm_1tAVCHX9c4yKBB1ejzWFw830Wfj5c0O0-TuQ7IMtxahY6apxOuGwckdOb_w4W3AkGY0mJJvolqn6rlYpp4XKR039dlUMlJ91eC8xmofHASyaGvwqx066hKdG8WjoGLFNUq6idgCQ/s1600/IMG_2396.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuCm_1tAVCHX9c4yKBB1ejzWFw830Wfj5c0O0-TuQ7IMtxahY6apxOuGwckdOb_w4W3AkGY0mJJvolqn6rlYpp4XKR039dlUMlJ91eC8xmofHASyaGvwqx066hKdG8WjoGLFNUq6idgCQ/s640/IMG_2396.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
These red beads are actually blood red and are lead crystal. Love the shape of these and they are a very substantial size.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaTi7xRcrwZzgo72MtBkP2lW_HdFoNwrQw_UFd8tmAuThiiUOGX67kn0KnNSgI0tHPV_NB97R94yb5khx0H_yobJRtKwFXgGU07EB2BS8EN8Fs5drQKhT5RUGR4wLoeGTtu8PIiadmBR8/s1600/IMG_2401.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaTi7xRcrwZzgo72MtBkP2lW_HdFoNwrQw_UFd8tmAuThiiUOGX67kn0KnNSgI0tHPV_NB97R94yb5khx0H_yobJRtKwFXgGU07EB2BS8EN8Fs5drQKhT5RUGR4wLoeGTtu8PIiadmBR8/s1600/IMG_2401.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
These large briolettes are pink quartz. A very light shade of pink. They have an almost chalky appearance.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then there's these turquoise nuggets. They have a lot of brown in them and are a really good size. I don't usually like nuggets. Too much fuss for not a lot of impact.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
These black beads are obsidian and when they are cleaned up I can just tell they will sparkle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI6Rqq3KCCamWjGgAtQxG-_HTYAs97SG1YLazaX8EjBbdPS6uYCJPzxboPbepyNLdCq-qJysYM7HdvftiL8EC7NREz6_50BYhYEHSKWDKyspPTIW7eRkFmnMRnph21AlKlEb-6rjwdy2k/s1600/IMG_2408.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiI6Rqq3KCCamWjGgAtQxG-_HTYAs97SG1YLazaX8EjBbdPS6uYCJPzxboPbepyNLdCq-qJysYM7HdvftiL8EC7NREz6_50BYhYEHSKWDKyspPTIW7eRkFmnMRnph21AlKlEb-6rjwdy2k/s1600/IMG_2408.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
These cute little hearts are shell. They have a lovely opaqueness (is that a word?) about them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5DPHlbkdobkVLizzK-Ciok49Y6LxfqflFxvBROQ0IQ2RRtipcENXSBCaGPBu6o_R5xQeJBb1zvNKL747yq-QvQI4wH02oXKU9niq_jKYawNMtRN7a9wI-xJKbx6QXp3jJkszs0ETyoFM/s1600/IMG_2398.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5DPHlbkdobkVLizzK-Ciok49Y6LxfqflFxvBROQ0IQ2RRtipcENXSBCaGPBu6o_R5xQeJBb1zvNKL747yq-QvQI4wH02oXKU9niq_jKYawNMtRN7a9wI-xJKbx6QXp3jJkszs0ETyoFM/s1600/IMG_2398.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
And take a gander at this pink coral. That bottom one looks like a tooth was growing out of it. Yuck! But I could not resist them--less the toothy one that is. No idea what I will do with these. Maybe just keep them to gross myself out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUSmni6K1bJCP4UHXmXNl9NKaJrPXDXgmjYS0ivn1RUYA7CJWgjraFMgosr6iDDa7Vf9iL99VUUwixtm1EuWOMZqfc3jFkAlD2rH9BC-TilT1Anvs5arRVBV7S-ZRTPzJr-GluPfPcVZI/s1600/IMG_2410.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUSmni6K1bJCP4UHXmXNl9NKaJrPXDXgmjYS0ivn1RUYA7CJWgjraFMgosr6iDDa7Vf9iL99VUUwixtm1EuWOMZqfc3jFkAlD2rH9BC-TilT1Anvs5arRVBV7S-ZRTPzJr-GluPfPcVZI/s1600/IMG_2410.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then there's these rocks below. They look like a mix of some rhodocrisite (spelling?), rocks, amethyst and who knows what else. But I really like them all mixed up together<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzwrDcQvQNDcrAaJXEfpO8RvkzRqw1O-D4kO3fjdAXb8rRoPdyUPFYk7blBQm33XUKlSyWG4sUKtTnuIhe6CSLqr2g3JQDdy_2rq7nxtSruF4xveRdRpZYlmzWOFqxIGiW_vukl2-_gMU/s1600/IMG_2413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzwrDcQvQNDcrAaJXEfpO8RvkzRqw1O-D4kO3fjdAXb8rRoPdyUPFYk7blBQm33XUKlSyWG4sUKtTnuIhe6CSLqr2g3JQDdy_2rq7nxtSruF4xveRdRpZYlmzWOFqxIGiW_vukl2-_gMU/s1600/IMG_2413.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I don't know if these are amazonite or aquamarine. Anyone want to take a guess? Even the bead guy wasn't sure. I think they are amazonite.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR02M8MmBiSMBh7b9fJG60IRxdjILwjlU0U4yf6QZZXNCvHIQWVZkNUNsGi8VhFQ_Mgz-kWnJZS08BTZIgkeRDmgXTohk_Y1JZ0MK2LehJlYvmm84zlFF24VVcBwrTTS6DU8zEQHV2kKI/s1600/IMG_2412.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR02M8MmBiSMBh7b9fJG60IRxdjILwjlU0U4yf6QZZXNCvHIQWVZkNUNsGi8VhFQ_Mgz-kWnJZS08BTZIgkeRDmgXTohk_Y1JZ0MK2LehJlYvmm84zlFF24VVcBwrTTS6DU8zEQHV2kKI/s1600/IMG_2412.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
These black labrodorite beads are gorgeous in person. They have a light but instead of blue it's a shiny silver that you get glimpses of.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzQFsaUIruUwDOfJZXjpBEuHZlfJF_p_ezgV241xvrbbxhyphenhyphenwfEVMJaFNWgrCJqf6e2OOPMRl3Dv6ynNzeITpp4vVds_yg16NjcRKw_7kp47Zur6CKYkGKG1CRUMUDJhnmGNefVUltV7QA/s1600/IMG_2409.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzQFsaUIruUwDOfJZXjpBEuHZlfJF_p_ezgV241xvrbbxhyphenhyphenwfEVMJaFNWgrCJqf6e2OOPMRl3Dv6ynNzeITpp4vVds_yg16NjcRKw_7kp47Zur6CKYkGKG1CRUMUDJhnmGNefVUltV7QA/s1600/IMG_2409.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
And I know chrysoprase when I see it. These suckers were a cool 70 bucks for the strand in some high end bead store. They are magnificent. I love that color of green and then the almost caramel brown. Really pretty. My mother is really hinting at wanting something made from these. We'll see. If she's good maybe<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
So what do you think of some of my stash. I am over the moon at finding this guy. If you ever go to Canton for First Monday you can't miss him. Any of you beady peeps will scope him out immediately!<br />
<br />
So that's all for now. Hope you enjoyed seeing all of these amazing rocks. Never thought I'd become a bead hoarder. I've heard of those types but never thought I'd be one. My guy walked into my new studio the other day, looked at me sitting in the floor surrounded by beads, shook his head and walked out. LOL LOL LOL. Love it!!! He said I looked like I was in some type of dream state.<br />
<br />
See you later1<br />

So I'm back. We've moved in. We have cable and internet and now are working on furniture and appliances. I'm sure my husband is now sorry he sold EVERYTHING when we sold our place in Oklahoma. I tried to tell him that moving it was better than buying it all over again. But noooooo he said it was no big deal!!<br />
<br />
Anyway now waiting on a refrigerator because we are damn tired of eating out for every meal. This has not been pleasant and my waistline shows it. Back to the gym for me.<br />
<br />
Went to Canton Texas this weekend and bought another load of beautiful beads from one of the vendors. I am in awe of them because they have some fantastic beads. I am totally going to upload some pics of all the goodies i've bought and I want to put some in my etsy store. I am having a difficult time trying to decide what to sell and what to make with. I'm such a bead hoarder.<br />
<br />
Oh, i'm so glad we are getting settled in finally because I am going to take another class from Deryn Mentock. If you'll remember I took a class this past spring 2014 called the Alchemy of Objects and she is a fantastic teacher and I learned a lot from that class. I now have a new vision for my jewelry making and for using found objects<br />
<br />
This new class is called The Art of Closure where she's teaching how to make some really gorgeous clasps for your jewelry projects. She has taught the class before so it's not new but it's new to me and some former students raved about it.<br />
<br />
So i'll be posting the projects we are making and talking about some of the things we are learning. I can't say too much about anything but the techniques. Don't want any copyright infringement charges!!! But it's fun to share what you learn with others.<br />
<br />
If you might be interested in the class (the more the merrier) you can read about it on her blog <a href="http://somethingsublime.typepad.com/">somethingsublime.typepad.com</a>. I am getting nothing for telling you about it so go ahead and check it out! I will try to post some pics tonight.<br />
<br />
Later!<br />

So, i've been missing in action for a while now. So sorry but so busy and stressed out. New city, new job, trying to purchase a new home (new to us) and it's all been too much. So I cut way back on blogging and jewelry making .<br />
<br />
But tomorrow we finally close after weeks of sending everything but our first born (we don't have kids by the way). Finally approved for the loan and we start moving in tomorrow after we close. Yippy! to have our own space again is fabulous!<br />
<br />
My sister has been accommodating and all but for a couple married 33 going on 34 years and having our own space it's been a trial. Thank God my sister let us stay with her but time to go. So saying all of this is making it seem real. My plan was to get an apartment and just house hunt along with renting. But my hubs thought it would be great to save money and pay my sister for rental instead. <br />
<br />
I'm sure she's happy to see us go. Not in a bad way but she's a single lady with grandkids who often visit so i'm sure she'll be glad to have her house back.<br />
<br />
I have made some jewelry and i've been giving stuff away just to destash some stuff I don't have to pack but i've been lax in taking pics so none to show.<br />
<br />
I'll be back in full force by the end of the month and come back to show some of what i've made.<br />
Until then pray that the move and settling in for us goes smoothly.<br />
<br />
Have you had any major changes recently?<br />

I am so excited!!!!! <br />
We decided to just start looking every evening after work to finally find that house that we both agree'd on. I must say it's been rough. He has weird taste (in my opinion) and i'm sure he feels the same about me. <br />
<br />
But anyway, we were in a little neighborhood waiting for our realtor (lovely guy with a lovely wife and new baby) so we decided to drive around the neighborhood a little to see what it had to offer.<br />
<br />
so we drove about 2 streets over and came across these wonderful houses that looked like condos or something to me. He said those are not condo's. I said yes they are. So of course the next thing was to prove each other wrong. And boy am I happy he was right and I was not cause the more we looked and drove around the streets the more we both realized that these were indeed houses.<br />
<br />
So, at the house we were supposed to look at was another couple with their realtor looking at it. But by this time we didn't care. We looked at the appointed house and it was lovely but just didn't compare to the ones we stalked earlier. We told our realtor about the ones we had seen and he got on the phone with the listing agent and we could see it right then!!!<br />
<br />
I was thrilled. So, we get back to the stalked home and there was that other couple!!! I wanted to yell out of the window move!!! I think that's our house but of course didn't.<br />
<br />
We finally got inside and it's my house!!! I was so excited I could hardly walk around it. It was everything I had been looking for (I know this sounds a little creepy like I found my soulmate or something) but it was a dream come true.<br />
<br />
I only have one picture on my phone and the rest I took with hubs phone cause mine was dying.<br />
<br />
The pictures just don't do the place justice but here goes--<br />
<br />
Here's our cute realtor opening the door for us. He has the cutest wife and little big green/blue-eyed baby you've ever seen. I took a pic of little Josh but I didn't think it appropriate to put his pic on my blog.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDbOS8hk-iEbD64LfPlHgtP1i6Kqy8EEMzc-m6rIqcVRrby0OwgSaHMMHxO_uPPqvJR-VahXJZwQ8DQEIO6Cy2rm1f0VRG1_b0bxAm1sgk3YGO4U5ofP-EPHRiKTI9PJFcvBESDJ_rjw4/s1600/IMG_0222.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDbOS8hk-iEbD64LfPlHgtP1i6Kqy8EEMzc-m6rIqcVRrby0OwgSaHMMHxO_uPPqvJR-VahXJZwQ8DQEIO6Cy2rm1f0VRG1_b0bxAm1sgk3YGO4U5ofP-EPHRiKTI9PJFcvBESDJ_rjw4/s1600/IMG_0222.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is from the inside of the front door. That door is stunning. I love it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwy_vhyphenhyphenfKpsjQ1u9zTOG5JJ9nivu9ERzbiN3Bm2SuHz0_y9_ga3GZKH2axuTokLJX4_XWLVTPohA9mddEnnwB4zzRf9D1cAVng0AED6CjkJMSXhBqlfg-z8Cv-CNqzzlq5K9GH8kqVcxU/s1600/IMG_0215.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwy_vhyphenhyphenfKpsjQ1u9zTOG5JJ9nivu9ERzbiN3Bm2SuHz0_y9_ga3GZKH2axuTokLJX4_XWLVTPohA9mddEnnwB4zzRf9D1cAVng0AED6CjkJMSXhBqlfg-z8Cv-CNqzzlq5K9GH8kqVcxU/s1600/IMG_0215.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is the first room that I think the owners used as a "living room" but we are going to combine it with the dining room to make it a big family room. Don't you just love those floors. First on my agenda is to get rid of that thick expensive carpet and try to match the hard room in the dining area.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEaCnVdv9BvpzRSlZJXMTNSwrRAPmMtICLDKHHg0Vfb-v_vOT61KfQVcEmY_23xuEKIQuc9tDwJQNPbGWOXbehdcBEEqDNibYhFV8z9KP-z3_mFU4dxyadu49Xs0I1-SV1LY-lffmKgxw/s1600/IMG_0216.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEaCnVdv9BvpzRSlZJXMTNSwrRAPmMtICLDKHHg0Vfb-v_vOT61KfQVcEmY_23xuEKIQuc9tDwJQNPbGWOXbehdcBEEqDNibYhFV8z9KP-z3_mFU4dxyadu49Xs0I1-SV1LY-lffmKgxw/s1600/IMG_0216.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here's another transom above the door to the master bedroom. I love these "old" touches in this home.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAbB_yT5JdOqPCGwjcHDQ0cuW6g9i9g3OFJrGxSdesXdS99YVxN4r04FlQHaI41GzDuvxijo9Z3mECDmlzkHyFu-Stb66zPqhf7INjYOE0veKxyb8ucr5xXw8uk3c-eeDL8EZDCwOgrLw/s1600/IMG_0205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAbB_yT5JdOqPCGwjcHDQ0cuW6g9i9g3OFJrGxSdesXdS99YVxN4r04FlQHaI41GzDuvxijo9Z3mECDmlzkHyFu-Stb66zPqhf7INjYOE0veKxyb8ucr5xXw8uk3c-eeDL8EZDCwOgrLw/s1600/IMG_0205.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is the master bedroom looking into the master bath. It's kind of dark and it also has expensive carpet which I intend to get rid of. Hubs thinks i'm crazy but we came from a house with all hard wood with nary a carpet to be found and I love'd that about our last house. So it'll be a tug of war but I WILL WIN!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH4ZiTNuE2mIop9m0PnF-NqQmSUgLUHGPcKkdLAJ0RdBTZubYR6YkXO8HHGkLHuvfLNX3yuHKP0ECm4X3EjSlArw0IBcHKTVX3YmR_N9C4DW8KY3ESWHjd3TMmPMy39pxZrg0AW0jipGs/s1600/IMG_0198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH4ZiTNuE2mIop9m0PnF-NqQmSUgLUHGPcKkdLAJ0RdBTZubYR6YkXO8HHGkLHuvfLNX3yuHKP0ECm4X3EjSlArw0IBcHKTVX3YmR_N9C4DW8KY3ESWHjd3TMmPMy39pxZrg0AW0jipGs/s1600/IMG_0198.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now this is the master bathroom which needs some work but I kind of like the old glass-tiled shower. What do you think? The huge tub is jetted and 2 windows surround it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje4BqwltVbUimDH9prupRrNOEmaZ3EY6VwjiPvjk5qbmdCJIuE8rapdz43RRrzXPEG0LcC3al3VIG1Bi-WCfkakwK-u18c-0XsYXeq3ZgyjJXIQA5ORKE9w95X7srYRI94T2XlMRBBe6M/s1600/IMG_0200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje4BqwltVbUimDH9prupRrNOEmaZ3EY6VwjiPvjk5qbmdCJIuE8rapdz43RRrzXPEG0LcC3al3VIG1Bi-WCfkakwK-u18c-0XsYXeq3ZgyjJXIQA5ORKE9w95X7srYRI94T2XlMRBBe6M/s1600/IMG_0200.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is a weird little space just outside of the bath. It's tiled and open to the sky so I think it's a little area to look at while you take a bath. Hubs says he'd put a big tree in a big decorative pot out there and maybe a little bench and call it a meditation space. Like he meditates!!!! Please. It's a little odd for me. Think i'll ask the owners what they did with it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is the outside of the home. I wanted to show you how close these homes are but couldn't get the other home in the picture. They are called "garden homes". This house is on a corner of the neighborhood so the back is surrounded by this brick wall on the street side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
This is the staircase up to the second floor.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is the wonderful closet in the master bathroom.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUG3Lra6nBXDU0ztzGmSdG_IcUmORvPKX6tiIH4GOyuO0GzlZ-G3kiSHXLQlO4Pmo4KstHwaV3QCNwbFQGgpk0_lJigNEAH9dm-KlZ29FWqese8fqFW70dqBoVyabescn8nxiDsbTLdyw/s1600/IMG_0201.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUG3Lra6nBXDU0ztzGmSdG_IcUmORvPKX6tiIH4GOyuO0GzlZ-G3kiSHXLQlO4Pmo4KstHwaV3QCNwbFQGgpk0_lJigNEAH9dm-KlZ29FWqese8fqFW70dqBoVyabescn8nxiDsbTLdyw/s1600/IMG_0201.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
And look--a built-in hutch in the bathroom!! I love it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFpZpx_hokSO2Ccd6x9lFOpn1JjIPpFJktA60i_sWRKZ5TzwlJufQI3Rh2SI8WhXus4s8YUNVPoUf1e4NK0ptIYGZUeHNzbj9hFZbrTBp6JMfrxc0tyCvsBmG9_9uo9GniHEo49gs-BNA/s1600/IMG_0202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFpZpx_hokSO2Ccd6x9lFOpn1JjIPpFJktA60i_sWRKZ5TzwlJufQI3Rh2SI8WhXus4s8YUNVPoUf1e4NK0ptIYGZUeHNzbj9hFZbrTBp6JMfrxc0tyCvsBmG9_9uo9GniHEo49gs-BNA/s1600/IMG_0202.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Another shot of the living area. That hutch looking thing in the corner is another built-in. It housed the old fashioned tv (I say that like I wasn't around for those big ol' tv's). Has a pullout thing for the tv to swivel on. Don't quite know what I'm gonna do with that. Any ideas? Our tv is one of those huge flat things that will go on another wall. We shall see. I love that the whole house has wooden shutters. Talk about expensive! We were always too cheap to get them for our last house. Maybe too poor too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqhcuE2BmLB5ZWiNymuhh7djElQ-dOfpSwXt__iXyCoOXMUmwbx9Dn0URYf3oDIQ5TJa-CttrD9YCXMrSU4zucPRttISHAxWVU_QdcnNdPCU7J0Lez8DNVGxo6zvEVznxYEm2x3fU-Ul4/s1600/IMG_0216.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqhcuE2BmLB5ZWiNymuhh7djElQ-dOfpSwXt__iXyCoOXMUmwbx9Dn0URYf3oDIQ5TJa-CttrD9YCXMrSU4zucPRttISHAxWVU_QdcnNdPCU7J0Lez8DNVGxo6zvEVznxYEm2x3fU-Ul4/s1600/IMG_0216.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is a shot of the kitchen from the dining room. Don't really like the tile but hubs thinks it's great. Mostly because he thinks it would cost a fortune to remove and replace. This house is built to last.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJUYKhINIUMx5vBPdbmHycs8rzxjsMJSehm1mmD-FVt0DsnnOylPvKU9q_7Wjvq4jec4JelLYH89qGPXSwc_gqsOW3LjsIyQfFZ2iuBYbNZGgPy3wOgzJAZ8Sqa-fSmRGk-MFyfav1HNU/s1600/IMG_0192.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJUYKhINIUMx5vBPdbmHycs8rzxjsMJSehm1mmD-FVt0DsnnOylPvKU9q_7Wjvq4jec4JelLYH89qGPXSwc_gqsOW3LjsIyQfFZ2iuBYbNZGgPy3wOgzJAZ8Sqa-fSmRGk-MFyfav1HNU/s1600/IMG_0192.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Another view of the kitchen looking into the little dinette area. It's small but there is a nice dining room at the back of the kitchen. Don't know why they had 2 dining rooms. It's not like i'm a great entertaining hostess or anything. Maybe i'll get into it who knows.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Another view of the front. Nicely landscaped. Again, not big at all and the hoa takes care of the front and the back.<br />

<br />
This is a view of the backyard which you enter from the kitchen. You can see the wall on the right.<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
This is the side yard sort of. Not much landscaping to do but I certainly will be planting something pretty there. That deck is made out of that composite stuff which will last for years and years.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
Just a view from the top of the stairs and that is the door to the master bedroom.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtPsf_z4EFKnptRf_P6UFsktWyAQLhpjFeHTdWO-z3ulRZgGu1m6BN84aNT0q_SBpgcReB3Oi8rBglbSfLKIrCSnCaff43i1Pcv6E5sgN29ALHeMP-DP0FoLMEP9IecEoHrHaM9O5TsVw/s1600/IMG_0208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtPsf_z4EFKnptRf_P6UFsktWyAQLhpjFeHTdWO-z3ulRZgGu1m6BN84aNT0q_SBpgcReB3Oi8rBglbSfLKIrCSnCaff43i1Pcv6E5sgN29ALHeMP-DP0FoLMEP9IecEoHrHaM9O5TsVw/s1600/IMG_0208.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So that's the tour. It's not a huge home. Just big enough for the two of us and my mom if and when the time comes.<br />
<br />
So I need you all to keep good thoughts that it's ours!!! We should know by tomorrow because the husband is out of town on a trip and should be back then. Once we hear, let the decorating begin!!!<br />
<br />
Oh yea i've been so busy house hunting that I totally haven't made a piece of jewelry but the girls at work want me to bring some jewelry to work for them to pick through so if I can remember i'll do that. Maybe after tomorrow with some good news I can finally relax and make some more pieces.<br />
Keep those positive thought coming our way!!<br />

Hi everybody-<br />
<br />
this is just a note to tell you that I decided to add some destash items to my Etsy store. I have so many beads and things that I think it's the right thing for me right now. The prices are really good because I'd like to lighten my load of stuff before we finally move into our new house--whenever that will be.<br />
<br />
I'm selling beads and will be putting various findings in the store. So, if you are interested please check it out <a href="http://etsy.com/shop/sadiejewelrydesign">here</a>.<br />
<br />
Haven's made anything this week. I think too lazy and wanting to rest after work. Hopefully I will find some energy somewhere this week to make. I haven't even gone antiquing this week. I surely wanted to but just couldn't muster up the energy to even do that. And it's one of my fav things to do.<br />
<br />
The house we put an offer in on and someone else made a better one so back to the drawing board.<br />
<br />
Until next time.<br />

Since I last blogged. This full-time job thing is killer. But i'm enjoying bringing home a paycheck. I haven't had (or made) a lot of time to blog or create jewelry but i'm hoping to change that. I've decided that I will post at least every Sunday.<br />
<br />
I have made a few new pieces that i'm happy to show you because I think they are really pretty. I'm still fascinated with vintage rhinestone pieces including buttons and brooches. I have gathered quite a collection at this point and i've got to start using them.<br />
<br />
I found the vintage blue rhinestone brooch at my fav antique store a couple of weeks ago. It's large and blingy just like I like it. I think this is the largest brooch i've used. It's not signed so I thought i'd use it with these gorgeous gemstone beads. They are a beautiful blue that goes perfectly with the brooch. I wore this one to work one day just to see if I got a reaction and wow did I! I had 5 women ask where it was from and how they could get one. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWgL_yiyeYGmilh39O3BsMgLvLRYoqWv9BQPMSAh1BrDFFuoa5fNF4suIC8bzx_s964450hFBlmCrNMK43UG-Tp1R_VzcHjPPaSRfmfPRkgHK1HQmKugO8s4GggL-b3Bdm2_UcjuebWtI/s1600/IMG_2118.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWgL_yiyeYGmilh39O3BsMgLvLRYoqWv9BQPMSAh1BrDFFuoa5fNF4suIC8bzx_s964450hFBlmCrNMK43UG-Tp1R_VzcHjPPaSRfmfPRkgHK1HQmKugO8s4GggL-b3Bdm2_UcjuebWtI/s1600/IMG_2118.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I added a long dangle at the back to give it more interest back there and used the same gemstone beads and a clear crystal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBVaQiVnyS8_AUH_gT552MKN-px4ee3HcT_0NOn0vU-7kF9DLUuNnpJ1f7DZJCeNfp_lxgUb9at5LTq1CAafeh-dnmlMm3D4eXFJbrCWlsnO9FiAM7OERTDU6l3bu8oUlcQRZ3LHjW-Ao/s1600/IMG_2123.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBVaQiVnyS8_AUH_gT552MKN-px4ee3HcT_0NOn0vU-7kF9DLUuNnpJ1f7DZJCeNfp_lxgUb9at5LTq1CAafeh-dnmlMm3D4eXFJbrCWlsnO9FiAM7OERTDU6l3bu8oUlcQRZ3LHjW-Ao/s1600/IMG_2123.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This necklace is one of the prettiest ones i've made yet. If you like bling it's listed in my <a href="http://etsy.com/listing/196226862/vintage-gemstone-blue%20-necklace-wire?">shop</a> now. So go check it out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
I found the vintage button with a star design at another antique shop that's a bit farther away from where I live but there is a lady there that is a button freak (her words). She has some amazing buttons to choose from and is happy to tell you all about them. Really nice lady. so I found this vintage rhinestone button that I fell in love with mainly because it reminds me of the Texas flag.<br />
the beads are faceted lapis which I bought a while ago. I love the look of the blue with the bling.<br />
I also listed this one in my etsy store. It's about 19 inches long including the focal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl6Itz0yKMYdMCVrn6u1-5Aly0Vp-Dlz7uyfMEabsVGKgqwemkjSXiZz8X_YRIhCRmwJwNamNTv5orzzAZI44i6Zx6sbiGfj6JoXmpTrTXeptyIf93xfa-Cq7nCtK-FPhGcTGCN1T_RiM/s1600/IMG_2151.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl6Itz0yKMYdMCVrn6u1-5Aly0Vp-Dlz7uyfMEabsVGKgqwemkjSXiZz8X_YRIhCRmwJwNamNTv5orzzAZI44i6Zx6sbiGfj6JoXmpTrTXeptyIf93xfa-Cq7nCtK-FPhGcTGCN1T_RiM/s1600/IMG_2151.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And then there's this necklace. I have been searching high and low to find one this vintage rhinestone buckles and finally!!! I used half of the buckle to make the necklace below. I bought the beautiful beads at a bead show so I don't exactly know what they are gemstone wise. I'm thinking they are chrysoprase because they are a beautiful green color and faceted.I made a sterling hook clasp for the necklace and it's about 20 inches long including the focal.<br />
I haven't worn this one to see if I get comments but my friend is clambering for it. We'll see.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Lovely, lovely. I'm so glad I found that buckle. Now i'm looking for more of them to incorporate into my jewelry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I've blogged about this one before but thought it's worth showing again. I love all the pink with the black mixed in. That pink rhinestone brooch I bought from a Facebook group that destashes and sells stuff and it is really pretty with the bow at the bottom. The beads are rhodonite and pink/black faceted agate beads mixed together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The pinks are not "matching" but the colors all blend together well.<br />
My flex shaft is working miracles in my life and i'm so glad I splurged and bought it. I have put holes in different objects and pieces of jewelry components, polished with it and there are uses I still don't know about yet. If you are really into the jewelry making thing then i think it's worth saving up to get the best flex shaft you can buy. Mine is a Fordham that is said to be the best.<br />

<br />
Oh, yeah, we think we've found our next house. It's in a lovely gated community that's small and very well established. We are now jus waiting to see if the current owners will accept our offer so we can move in before the end of summer. I will be so glad to have a home of my own again. I love my sister and appreciate her willingness to put up with us awhile but I think it's time to move on. Here's a little peek at what it looks like.<br />
<br />
This is the back of the house which I love because the yard is full of mature trees and there's plenty of shade for the Texas heat that has already arrived in early July.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is just some landscaping in the back by the pond that runs thru the whole neighborhood.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The owners built a little sitting deck right over the pond (the pond has not so pretty water in it at the moment) but it's a nice little spot to chill in the evenings and weekends.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So everyone say some well wishes for us to finally get back to our lives and owning a home of our own!!! Stay tuned to the saga of offers, counters and yeses and no's.<br />
<br />
Oh, a few more pieces to show-earrings.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
I found these cute little earrings and knew I had to have them for the little charms. The components awesome type of blue material with inlaid mop representing the moon and the stars. I took them apart and attached some blue crystals and silver plated chain and it made a beautiful pair of earrings. A lady at my job bought them. I really was planning to keep them for myself but she admired them so much I sold them.<br />
<br />

I made these little magnesite earrings to go with the necklace below it. Since the necklace is really busy I thought some simple little earrings with a pop of red coral would't over power.</div>

<br />
<br />
These little charmers can go with that large blue rhinestone focal necklace without being "too much". They are made with the same blue gemstones and some clear crystal briolettes that look blue because they reflect the color of the beads.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The earrings below are made with some religious medals I bout on ebay. The medals are not vintage but you wouldn't know it by looking. I just hung some simple clear crystals on them and made some sterling ear wires. I have worn these many times and have made 4 additional pairs for other ladies who like them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfbGydIu8ByaggjUGrZAMK95pfXeQAU2S5mWfX2r9h6uirlTXNiqKrykPyj2ZsUpPHjdEAxEqREMHaRC7p4eMqyk7yvwJ0VC16dJ0eT9ya0X3iTE0jI-5bMtPVA32FUBvWOUqkY9sxvgU/s1600/IMG_2142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfbGydIu8ByaggjUGrZAMK95pfXeQAU2S5mWfX2r9h6uirlTXNiqKrykPyj2ZsUpPHjdEAxEqREMHaRC7p4eMqyk7yvwJ0VC16dJ0eT9ya0X3iTE0jI-5bMtPVA32FUBvWOUqkY9sxvgU/s1600/IMG_2142.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
So that's all for me now. I'm going to go and make some jewelry on this quiet Sunday morning and be praying that we get this house. By the way, it happens to be right down the street from my best friend so i'm excited to see if it all pans out. Later peeps!!!<br />

So I guess i'm getting into the work groove again. Still tired and needing a nap at work sometimes. But of course that's not happening.<br />
<br />
Me and hubby finally had enough energy to go out and have some fun this weekend. We went to one of our fav restaurant's for some sushi and sake. It's called Pirahanna ( spelling probably wrong) but it was fabulous as usual. Here's a pic of C getting his eat on:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3gIYacl2faI1pivIC03jFpq1jBwa87_GVOLIM7m-CejVdappRNc9HAs7tDlvsyBOrRcPxPUl99NJg7bp7HEFeMXQPmA5p7BAPmsTXj-8OK_l2xjfklwekOa0KFXiwNU5hLgvMXgmaQvQ/s1600/IMG_1940.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3gIYacl2faI1pivIC03jFpq1jBwa87_GVOLIM7m-CejVdappRNc9HAs7tDlvsyBOrRcPxPUl99NJg7bp7HEFeMXQPmA5p7BAPmsTXj-8OK_l2xjfklwekOa0KFXiwNU5hLgvMXgmaQvQ/s1600/IMG_1940.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
We were so excited to finally get up the energy to do something fun, that we ordered sushi and some cooked delights too. I had to roll myself outta there. Woo hoo!!!!<br />
<br />
And then I made some jewelry. It was so good to just take the time to do what I love to do and these are the results:<br />
<br />
I actually made this magnesite necklace last weekend but could not get any good pics of it because it was a cloudy, rainy mess of a day. I got the cross at the last bead show I went to in Oklahoma City.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvLg-99hgPjcF8RzkVYOJZgv66PF2ATRbJ5pslcLuffehKokydQi2tjA66JOJy7eWFS66wf18bBs3Ie3r0T1mYgKQio8ozFz9a9ujyCkgoWgBtOBm2A18NyReMb-Jw4kLWGAfqNR2b8bc/s1600/IMG_1970.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvLg-99hgPjcF8RzkVYOJZgv66PF2ATRbJ5pslcLuffehKokydQi2tjA66JOJy7eWFS66wf18bBs3Ie3r0T1mYgKQio8ozFz9a9ujyCkgoWgBtOBm2A18NyReMb-Jw4kLWGAfqNR2b8bc/s1600/IMG_1970.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
And the brass book I got from a lady on Etsy who sells some of the most interesting jewelry making stuff. The brass piece is actually a tiny little book but I cut the two pieces in half and used them as separate pieces. I love the wording on the front cover and the picture on the back cover. I plan to use one of them as a full one piece eventually in something else.<br />

<br />
I love how this necklace came together and plan on wearing it tomorrow with an all black outfit.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoiNirN_1lW_I-KcVYbs5A4FYCQe-z0sdetpQwVX8YBAOldKNrH89zablFVoYOVFELG6EIgU21Omb3zQh5CcMs68W1HPsr_4-UNOb6fpG6Z9n521XJ2ckFEFNNBoCQrZ4UUI5shGHRj24/s1600/IMG_1970.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoiNirN_1lW_I-KcVYbs5A4FYCQe-z0sdetpQwVX8YBAOldKNrH89zablFVoYOVFELG6EIgU21Omb3zQh5CcMs68W1HPsr_4-UNOb6fpG6Z9n521XJ2ckFEFNNBoCQrZ4UUI5shGHRj24/s1600/IMG_1970.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I made this necklace. I was in a pink mood today and I bought this pink rhinestone piece from a lady on a Facebook group I joined. I think it's so pretty with a bow "tying" it off. It was actually a brooch that I cut the pin back off of and used as a focal (thank you Deryn Mentock). There were no missing rhinestones in this piece. It's pretty old so that's unusual.<br />
<br />
I had some faceted agate beads and some rhodonite beads all in beautiful hues of pink. Wired them altogether and it's all a perfect match. I used some sterling filled wire to make a clasp and used some crystal stones to make a long drapey back for the necklace along with one of the gemstone beads.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaqYtDYzNnFxuTge_yJXOUD0Wy8giyx9rb_YNeoHvCLXTYzvdC9ThziVantkRc6d2HNsOhpVhg44BDhyphenhyphenf2y7TuhzBM8ceqUJqJc37CquB0kcmlyiF_6piDyI4InNkBMOVCDae5buRq3Ek/s1600/IMG_1954.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaqYtDYzNnFxuTge_yJXOUD0Wy8giyx9rb_YNeoHvCLXTYzvdC9ThziVantkRc6d2HNsOhpVhg44BDhyphenhyphenf2y7TuhzBM8ceqUJqJc37CquB0kcmlyiF_6piDyI4InNkBMOVCDae5buRq3Ek/s1600/IMG_1954.jpg" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
Love how it turned out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNHsiOS8nO4VcQS22gDnHmxW-xJGsdrf485mUw2Ub4F_EQSpsM9V4aKDH44vNXW-kRwn79q6nSkxY5ZuJTxAdNqwOJ3AHnbAs19YUOLhy6WtXP7-3qbvh6wc0B-ddPyN92enPNYYkWMCE/s1600/IMG_1966.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNHsiOS8nO4VcQS22gDnHmxW-xJGsdrf485mUw2Ub4F_EQSpsM9V4aKDH44vNXW-kRwn79q6nSkxY5ZuJTxAdNqwOJ3AHnbAs19YUOLhy6WtXP7-3qbvh6wc0B-ddPyN92enPNYYkWMCE/s1600/IMG_1966.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Those beads go together well with the pink and black together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This one is asymmetrical which I love but can't always make it work.<br />

So that was my weekend in a nutshell and it was fab for a change. I hope everyone had a great weekend! See you later!<br />

So i'm tired and haven't been wanting to get in my little temporary studio to make anything. I like my new job so far but after 6 months of laying around and doing whatever I wanted it was a bit difficult to make that adjustment into a working person again.<br />
<br />
But I have to say i'm glad that I got the first week in and now i'm back on the working track (kind of).<br />
<br />
I did manage to make a few items friday night and saturday. So here they are (it's not much):<br />
<br />
<br />
Love these earrings. They are made with these beautiful crystal faceted ball beads, some 70's vintage chain links and aquamarine beads that i've had forever. These earrings are about 2 inches long from the top of the ear wires. The photos don't do the crystal beads justice because they are a beautiful color. I'm putting these in my Etsy shop tonight. Take a look if you're interested.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQupoJpQS5RWymExiAnM1AsZ6x8JGuc056x0lgPM8OA1A_cFB5nPiTvwL0KjOSmavZ9n6G0uy2SuH11_TjTuhdZwtY2tYPbAy4b8r66UFYrP_lvaanjRSdNZFxOHj-AJn5q8hTL_NalNE/s1600/IMG_1904.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQupoJpQS5RWymExiAnM1AsZ6x8JGuc056x0lgPM8OA1A_cFB5nPiTvwL0KjOSmavZ9n6G0uy2SuH11_TjTuhdZwtY2tYPbAy4b8r66UFYrP_lvaanjRSdNZFxOHj-AJn5q8hTL_NalNE/s1600/IMG_1904.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFlYaqBHZsflTViccDktEr8vN-nD7lJSJ3GlkIo3NEFiD8OcOabxldeJ_Ts1yzbsWulPPa8gIYHCpDMYT0rif8CNxH6I7YdDhz-JhSdnYLIGRGcsTbq-nh7ScpJHZGLL-fHtWj4BRSBvY/s1600/IMG_1910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFlYaqBHZsflTViccDktEr8vN-nD7lJSJ3GlkIo3NEFiD8OcOabxldeJ_Ts1yzbsWulPPa8gIYHCpDMYT0rif8CNxH6I7YdDhz-JhSdnYLIGRGcsTbq-nh7ScpJHZGLL-fHtWj4BRSBvY/s1600/IMG_1910.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I'm still on my rosary necklace kick and used this old cross and a really old Virgin Mary medal. The rest are red crystals wired together with gold (color) wire. I also used the old clasp that was on the rosary I picked up at an antique store. The patina on the cross and medal is wonderful and I left them just as they were when I found them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEkNFRpOjFYMx988heVBmNS8TF9w67qSpZrEMNeqS8hJ02QlWdoi-kOjqIXy4mFA_OGFo9OD02gumMvB-lQNr6dE00X-xs5sP8w9uV4pgM2_AkevPVYl3LesjjauCY5SFdl7JVqsg9y4k/s1600/IMG_1918.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEkNFRpOjFYMx988heVBmNS8TF9w67qSpZrEMNeqS8hJ02QlWdoi-kOjqIXy4mFA_OGFo9OD02gumMvB-lQNr6dE00X-xs5sP8w9uV4pgM2_AkevPVYl3LesjjauCY5SFdl7JVqsg9y4k/s1600/IMG_1918.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkPYULU4h4b8APog9js5kgHvdCmxUBtlMhjHvdrff2-FeSuzBV8NAGec0qktIlWMfb9rbH6Su5NJpaq7dHyxD0puT3xUUzAu4IUUu60YnbfqQf25JIfBv5QOIYRXlDQ0-EL5c7NCBUfJI/s1600/IMG_1921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkPYULU4h4b8APog9js5kgHvdCmxUBtlMhjHvdrff2-FeSuzBV8NAGec0qktIlWMfb9rbH6Su5NJpaq7dHyxD0puT3xUUzAu4IUUu60YnbfqQf25JIfBv5QOIYRXlDQ0-EL5c7NCBUfJI/s1600/IMG_1921.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I made a dangle for the back with clear crystal and one red crystal.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT6yDVRQnyl1gG9l8Ju9Yo9vb5Jk-eRZqmqHvWk0OYm3pm0FWpIKnQ2c2pWBLek7I19JHRND6t8_9FfQ8xUEepMrjJyODjCEYrsDvkvYhbDSxaIx2owzP6oiqCCmi16N1amt08nF4t7SI/s1600/IMG_1918.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgT6yDVRQnyl1gG9l8Ju9Yo9vb5Jk-eRZqmqHvWk0OYm3pm0FWpIKnQ2c2pWBLek7I19JHRND6t8_9FfQ8xUEepMrjJyODjCEYrsDvkvYhbDSxaIx2owzP6oiqCCmi16N1amt08nF4t7SI/s1600/IMG_1918.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I found the marcasite pendant below at another antique store and fell instantly in love with it. I used some black crystal beads and silver-plated chain to put it together. The 3 way connector is new but I thought it made a great way to make this necklace asymetrical. I have had the chain for a very long time and I have a lot of it. I figured out how to cut it and still use it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCfxwQiMY_ZrA_uV7G-mEvSIMk8P1-oEWq7WhD4wg-9IxlcLV5ezWZHYtDBh4vPPIv-9vMKPHzP58trEgBlSITw126c56BKcHcQjkcfzgaaP6uTA_ZEm2A56UcJsoRt4BkHcXSOTQa54I/s1600/IMG_1930.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCfxwQiMY_ZrA_uV7G-mEvSIMk8P1-oEWq7WhD4wg-9IxlcLV5ezWZHYtDBh4vPPIv-9vMKPHzP58trEgBlSITw126c56BKcHcQjkcfzgaaP6uTA_ZEm2A56UcJsoRt4BkHcXSOTQa54I/s1600/IMG_1930.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a rhinestone clasp for the closure and added a long dangle in the back with black and clear crystals. I think it turned out fabulously!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxpiyOv4wTnBLFkFA3MGQSFN-1w2g_TQIhD9OtgxxXruRkzHRJGkjQVC54-glwhzeKT7S3VpGYseFLlPF-1v7XobTn2veR6Ds1uH5OxjfoVghkoZgoARJNwybZiEXN5J0gP7nTtJTWuWg/s1600/IMG_1922.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxpiyOv4wTnBLFkFA3MGQSFN-1w2g_TQIhD9OtgxxXruRkzHRJGkjQVC54-glwhzeKT7S3VpGYseFLlPF-1v7XobTn2veR6Ds1uH5OxjfoVghkoZgoARJNwybZiEXN5J0gP7nTtJTWuWg/s1600/IMG_1922.jpg" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So that's it for me. Hopefully once I get more into the work groove i'll be able to set some time in the evenings to follow my passion of making jewelry. Please let me know what you think of my designs. I so appreciate feed back!<br />

Well, it's official. I've started a full-time job again. No more leisurely surfing the net. No more wasting my afternoons in antique malls and garage sales. No more leisurely lunches with my sister.<br />
<br />
Although I knew this day was coming and was kind of looking forward to it, I'm back to wishing I had more time to make jewelry.<br />
<br />
I'm gonna have to do my antique searching on the week ends--with everybody else!! ugh!!!<br />
<br />
Even though I wasted time while I was off I truly enjoyed the life of a lady of leisure. So with all that said I'm still gonna be blogging as often as I can and showing folks what new creations i've come up with and what new vintage (or not) finds i've gotten. Just not as often.<br />
<br />
And by the way if you are looking for the 8th Bead Soup Party you can find it <a href="http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2014/05/welcome-to-8th-bead-soup-blog-party.html">http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2014/05/welcome-to-8th-bead-soup-party.html</a>.<br />
<br />
I'm still slowly making my way through the hop to see all of the creative pieces the other participants have made. There are some really creative and talented peeps in this large group!<br />
<br />
I don't have any pictures this evening but will have some soon. I just have to make time to photograph in the evening. Thank goodness it's summer and the daylight lasts longer.<br />
<br />
So until next time please check out the hop and wish me luck on my new job. I think i'm gonna really like it!!<br />

I just wanted to write a post to those who serve, have served and have lost their lives serving this great nation of ours. And also to their families who serve and have served right along with their loved ones.<br />
<br />
It takes a great toll on families when their loved ones-men and women are in far away lands serving this country. So to those families I say be blessed and stay strong. It's a hard life sometimes without those you love.<br />
<br />
So to vets past and present and those serving right now, I say God bless you all!!! I intend to do my duty and serve the veterans and their families in any way that I can. I'm looking all the time for places to contribute money and time to assist any that I can. And no matter what I do, I can never repay them for what they have done and the freedoms that that have helped all of us to have.<br />
<br />
Today is such a dreary, rainy day. It looks like night when it's actually afternoon. So I decided to make some jewelry and I managed to make two necklaces.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is one:<br />
<br />
I found this marcasite looking peacock at one of my fav antique malls. At first I thought it was marcasite but looked closer and it's kind of a pot metal and it was a brooch. I removed the pin back knowing it was gonna be a focal for a necklace. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSut-fvTdZRSvl949w5zx-5wlpuGKZg_Gfx3u6QpftbwwMr2kStk0r-PUWgbQLRv0eNKNG21k-QLtARitVw_B1PKA6whY7kPn6p6gnB9A9ONcbRZUb4ogURTfQ8rp4r6l6FyVoQW9xMDs/s1600/IMG_1777.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSut-fvTdZRSvl949w5zx-5wlpuGKZg_Gfx3u6QpftbwwMr2kStk0r-PUWgbQLRv0eNKNG21k-QLtARitVw_B1PKA6whY7kPn6p6gnB9A9ONcbRZUb4ogURTfQ8rp4r6l6FyVoQW9xMDs/s1600/IMG_1777.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I connected the peacock using some rainbow jasper that got recently. I love the colors and they all coordinate so well. I wired it all together with some silver plated wire.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrIyUryazGk3cS4opwgbviw7yniIGFEkA5Blfp0TALvHapgHyTPfa49eaCwhvT7KzrFIwemE7xRr83zd8vc10tFMFqEJH-DCxIhjJMqmsDev1jgqaObWfnQj3Ciq3u73YD0bOGsCPClQ/s1600/IMG_1768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrIyUryazGk3cS4opwgbviw7yniIGFEkA5Blfp0TALvHapgHyTPfa49eaCwhvT7KzrFIwemE7xRr83zd8vc10tFMFqEJH-DCxIhjJMqmsDev1jgqaObWfnQj3Ciq3u73YD0bOGsCPClQ/s1600/IMG_1768.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I added a little vintage cross to the side of the peacock.<br />

Isn't that jasper a beautiful color. Some of the stones are rough which I love!<br />

On the back you can kind of see where the peacock was made in Germany and where the pin was attached.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I used a hand made sterling hook for the clasp and used some clear glass crystals and a jasper to hang from the back. I'm thinking this is a keeper for me. I love that peacock. <br />
<br />
Although last night my sister asked if it was a turkey!!! We all had a good laugh about it.<br />
<br />

<br />
This is the other necklace I made this weekend:<br />
<br />
It's fitting for this special weekend. I found this old eagle pin that is from a military uniform. Something about eagles that just draws me. I cut the pin backs off the eagle and put it together with some aquamarine and amethyst. I've had the aquamarine squares a really long time. They are a bit rugged looking but a gorgeous blue-green color.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhppFhQ4dgMfAkrgalqzQf1F5UaklI9pVmarfrUgWFT_vsN4kCa5ftIdziktCO93HQGABDKp0Nb2EEcakyRCBDBP-7_R1Y4Y9yhxzN99fCsxfkUxSSm-EU0Y7zka-z-KM1uvOnMuc1iqY0/s1600/IMG_1822.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhppFhQ4dgMfAkrgalqzQf1F5UaklI9pVmarfrUgWFT_vsN4kCa5ftIdziktCO93HQGABDKp0Nb2EEcakyRCBDBP-7_R1Y4Y9yhxzN99fCsxfkUxSSm-EU0Y7zka-z-KM1uvOnMuc1iqY0/s1600/IMG_1822.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
You can tell from the picture that the two colors work very well together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hey ya'll I found a vintage brooch and rosary. The colors are really pretty in the brooch-pink, green and purple. I also found a beautiful colorful brooch at my fav antique shop.<br />
<br />
I decided together they would make a wonderful necklace.<br />
So I put them together to form this really special necklace. It's 27 inches long including the focal brooch. The rosary beads are a gorgeous pink and goes well with the colors in the brooch. I added a gold crucifix and an old rosary connector.<br />

I am so excited to be a participant in this bead soup party. My partner for my first ever bead soup party is <b>Cynthia Abner of the blog <a href="http://createdtreasures.blogspot.com/">createdtreasures.blogspot.com</a>.</b> A big Thank You! to Cynthia. Be sure to check out Cynthia's blog to see the soup I sent her and the creation she made with it. I can't wait to see!!<br />
<br />
We communicated via Facebook and it turns out she is in the medical field just like me! What a coinky dink. <br />
<br />
Anyway, we sent each other our bead soups and boy did she send me a soup that I would never have picked for myself. You see, that is part of the challenge, to send folks things that challenge them and that they wouldn't necessarily pick themselves.<br />
<br />
We all get in a rut and kind of do the same things over and over and work with the same types of beads etc. So this party is to get us designers out of our comfort zones and into something new and challenging. The soup that Cynthia sent is a really pretty flower focal with coordinating beads.<br />
<br />
The rule is that you have to use the focal and the clasp that your partner sent. Unfortunately for me, I totally lost the clasp which was a pretty butterfly toggle clasp. I have looked and looked for it. My excuse is that I moved during the last months and I have lost plenty of stuff. Don't know if it is lost or if it's in a box somewhere. So I ask forgiveness for being so thoughtless as to lose part of my soup!!<br />
<br />
Anyway I pondered and pondered what to design. I finally decided the flower needed to definitely be showcased with another finding. I used some of the coordinating beads sent by Cynthia and some of my own beads (those that I could find anyway). I found an old jewelry piece to attach to the focal flower and then wire-wrapped coordinating beads. <br />
<br />
I think it turned out lovely. My mom already has her eye on it. She said that the flower looks like it belongs on a bush or tree it's so pretty. So guess what she will be getting along with her other Mother's Day gifts!!<br />
<br />
<b>I would like to thank Lori Anderson of <a href="http://prettythingsblog.com/">prettythingsblog.com</a> for hosting this awesome event for all of us national and international designers. This lady by all accounts has had some health challenges but has hung in there and hosted this party. What a trooper!! Thanks Lori and helpers for all of your hard work. God bless you.</b><br />
<br />
<br />
And please follow this link<b> <a href="http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2014/05/welcome-to-8th-bead-soup-blog-party.html">http://www.prettythingsblog.com/2014/05/welcome-to-8th-bead-soup-blog-party.html</a></b> to enjoy the other designers bead soup designs (scroll down to find them all). Believe me it's gonna take awhile to get through them all but I am psyched to get going and see what others have done. Enjoy!!<br />
<br />
<br />
Enjoy looking at the pictures of the beginning to the end of my design journey with this bead soup. I really enjoyed it and i'm looking forward to the next one.<br />

I am so loving that I finally bought this flex shaft. I'm sure peeps are tired of hearing about it but now I don't know what I would do without it.<br />
<br />
I'm running around putting holes in everything just to drill. <br />
<br />
So I made another necklace and some more earrings. I never would have thought I'd be making earrings frequently because as I said previously I'm just not good at designing them. But of course now that I have bought into the found object mantra I'm hooked!<br />
<br />
So here's the necklace I made today. I made it using this piece of something that I found the other day in an antique place as the focal. It's a glass heart with some type of silver metal around it. It's perfect to use as a focal cause it's pretty and unique. The back of the heart focal has a crack in it which at first I thought was a bad thing. But now that I have used it, it just adds to the charm and interest of the heart because it makes you look twice to investigate what it is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCupfOZY9fZxzA_Hhv-a_UxaiIepKfULzokFSXZ7bsyqPKaOM6ZmreBJoJdrBoBreSjdP78X_YEC6Di4ERBVQ3TZBvLMFrMzuv0GSIekss0BkfT2IleOwLOhfQ7DcvuhW84oQabZIRoMo/s1600/IMG_1677.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCupfOZY9fZxzA_Hhv-a_UxaiIepKfULzokFSXZ7bsyqPKaOM6ZmreBJoJdrBoBreSjdP78X_YEC6Di4ERBVQ3TZBvLMFrMzuv0GSIekss0BkfT2IleOwLOhfQ7DcvuhW84oQabZIRoMo/s1600/IMG_1677.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
You can clearly see the crack in this picture :<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTrZPKlHB-rnVJVM6K8Kq7hLxLHJ2kOpmWX3vsa4FFyPEpRru-k-JelrQXX_HPpX6DUF_3bSyy1qwpN2XpgJ0u1s-Ikddk0UWzEiJT5ZDw4phtO0_jl-icb9-O_G8oD2DZzV2rhHkBGfE/s1600/IMG_1672.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTrZPKlHB-rnVJVM6K8Kq7hLxLHJ2kOpmWX3vsa4FFyPEpRru-k-JelrQXX_HPpX6DUF_3bSyy1qwpN2XpgJ0u1s-Ikddk0UWzEiJT5ZDw4phtO0_jl-icb9-O_G8oD2DZzV2rhHkBGfE/s1600/IMG_1672.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Doesn't it look like it might be some type of inscription or something? But it's not.<br />
I used some s/p silver wire to wire the whole thing together and black and clear crystal beads.<br />
<br />
The back is finished with smaller crystals and a religious medal. As you can see I put a hole in the bottom of the medal then decided not to add anything to it. I might still add something. I don't know.<br />
I made the back dangle pretty long so I might leave it along. I am obsessed with making the back as pretty as the front these days. That clasp is from an etsy seller that I have found who sells them at a good price. I don't think they are vintage by they certainly look like they are.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
These are the earrings which I made using some vintage enameled flower findings with a rhinestone in the middle. These findings are so pretty in person. I attached them using steel wire, some frosted grey beads and steel earwires. These suckers are pretty long at 3 inches but my niece is eyeing them and has hinted what a great Mother's Day gift they would make.<br />

I don't have many props yet but I'm working on it. I have been scanning the other blogs that I follow and admire to figure out what they use and how they use them. I'm still using my iphone for pics as I haven't decided what type of camera to buy. Any suggestions? </div>

I was perusing Etsy a couple of weeks ago looking for found objects and unique findings to make jewelry and I found a really cool shop that has some really unique stuff.<br />
<br />
I received the package from her last week but didn't have time to really look through it. Well, yesterday I looked and found some awesome findings and decided to make some earrings.<br />
<br />
I don't make a lot of earrings because I can't seem to find the creativity to design them. Mine are usually your standard ones that anyone can make.<br />
<br />
I'm so excited about these mainly because the findings are so unique and beautiful. I am now on a mission to find more!<br />
<br />
Here are the earrings:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidVpEFVdIvTC3l2ULLnKyhsdmT1t6Hpmcv25H16Kj6hKVTG7Gu4TYTyh_FJlZh3Y7vHoUqKxq_L42RPg4K-QivnStOGQGgu8Aypo9NcZ0BAmfJaM6uSUZSb603DPLc75mL2AeU-zH0u0U/s1600/IMG_1657.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidVpEFVdIvTC3l2ULLnKyhsdmT1t6Hpmcv25H16Kj6hKVTG7Gu4TYTyh_FJlZh3Y7vHoUqKxq_L42RPg4K-QivnStOGQGgu8Aypo9NcZ0BAmfJaM6uSUZSb603DPLc75mL2AeU-zH0u0U/s1600/IMG_1657.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Aren't those flower findings gorgeous? I paired them with some shimmery blue/green crystal beads and sterling ear wires. I almost want to keep them because I don't find anymore in her store.<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
I got to use my flex shaft for the first time and made two holes at the top of the findings. It was an absolute dream to use. I was afraid at first cause I don't use power tools but my husband told me to wear my safety glasses and go for it. So I did.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
I am so happy I finally got up the nerve and jumped in. Thank you <b>Deryn Mentock</b> for the inspiration and the instruction on using a flex shaft and being safe!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
What have you done afraid lately and it worked out??</div>

I made another necklace today. It was a really busy day but I found the time. Now that i'm going back to a "day job" I just feel this urgency to make stuff before I forget what I learned in the jewelry class I took. I'm sure I won't forget because it has totally turned my jewelry making in a new direction which is a good thing and I'm excited about it.<br />
<br />
I could kick myself for not taking a class before now. If any of you are thinking about it don't hesitate. It can completely turn your hobby/business around in a new direction.<br />
<br />
For me I learned some new techniques and improved on some of the techniques I already had. It was a God send for me.<br />
<br />
So i'm totally into found objects now and I found one that I immediately fell in love with. It's a big silver starfish. I had no idea what I was going to do with it when I bought it but knew I'd use it eventually. I decided to use it today and I made a gorgeous statement necklace with it. It is the star of the show. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB5rU1pDm-kcQYhmNoSx5VrgQay_OQp3O5Uozf0m1dEb9ADPsgfRm0Qlp9mByE0jpnqvIcM63GWMjNBweF1PXerHodLEvmTjJ3ERyxiVPoyYs_4rIZZS6tJv3JlXwWl_EI61uAFaOokEQ/s1600/IMG_1636.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB5rU1pDm-kcQYhmNoSx5VrgQay_OQp3O5Uozf0m1dEb9ADPsgfRm0Qlp9mByE0jpnqvIcM63GWMjNBweF1PXerHodLEvmTjJ3ERyxiVPoyYs_4rIZZS6tJv3JlXwWl_EI61uAFaOokEQ/s1600/IMG_1636.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I think the starfish is beautiful because it's so detailed. It's made out of silver metal with incredible detailing. If you've seen a starfish up close it's very similar only it's silver. This piece is vintage but I don't know how old it is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsOqXnEQeHK6KCN9VdeqLCoJ9wlMA-q-IwzJWNXh9vD3oObayyl32-SsNPU0kyRdGRsEMX4fbkmothoLbl9LJSz0AZshx93KTOy_xjMY6f4TnDtWq6EEkAopcP6dOZ-3FSk1gEHfRiRGo/s1600/IMG_1628.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsOqXnEQeHK6KCN9VdeqLCoJ9wlMA-q-IwzJWNXh9vD3oObayyl32-SsNPU0kyRdGRsEMX4fbkmothoLbl9LJSz0AZshx93KTOy_xjMY6f4TnDtWq6EEkAopcP6dOZ-3FSk1gEHfRiRGo/s1600/IMG_1628.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I made it with some crystal beads in a deep blue and some abalone shell beads i've had awhile. Thought the shells and the starfish go together so well as representations of the ocean.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJRJ19yFu4n9NNs3bk4NH_7u7AQlldoORPHG2uLg3ELKU3ccHGzKvk5Tce2xI8vHhJhchLYvj5FWupk0K4K5VNTbF0zilRd0z_NHN_Y5iVYuB5wVpSSwoBh00eTgv-GerZEzWWYgCDZVw/s1600/IMG_1633.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJRJ19yFu4n9NNs3bk4NH_7u7AQlldoORPHG2uLg3ELKU3ccHGzKvk5Tce2xI8vHhJhchLYvj5FWupk0K4K5VNTbF0zilRd0z_NHN_Y5iVYuB5wVpSSwoBh00eTgv-GerZEzWWYgCDZVw/s1600/IMG_1633.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
The abalone beads have some wonderful colors--blue, green, pink. I love them.<br />
<br />
I made a hand forged sterling silver hook clasp for the closure. I even balled the end of the hook. A result of the class. I'm no longer afraid of the torch!!!<br />
<br />
If anyone knows of some really good instructors who give online classes tell me about it. I'm itching to learn more!<br />
<br />
Happy weekend everyone.<br />

I have been concentrating on finally getting a job this week so I have not had as much time as I have had to make jewelry. But I finally finished an asymetrical necklace that I was doing for the Alchemy of Objects class I was taking (sad face it's over). <br />
<br />
I'm so proud of it because it was hell to get it right seeing that it's asymetrical. Take a look and tell me what you think:<br />

<br />
I've decided that it's mine! My husband said it's one of the prettiest necklaces i've ever made. I agree with him. It's made of carnelian, peach glass beads and brass chain. For the back I made a simple<br />
hook.<br />
<br />
Those focal beads I got from a seller on Etsy. Lately i've bought a lot from Etsy sellers. I'm just now realizing just what unique stuff you can get on Etsy. The other glass beads I had forever. I'm not a big fan of orange and it's variations but for whatever reason I really love the colors in this necklace.<br />
<br />
I have a really pretty coral sundress that will go perfectly with this necklace. Can you see the beautiful rhinestones in those beads? They are really sparkly.<br />
<br />
Until next time!<br />
<br />

So as you know, i've been collecting old jewelry parts and vintage necklaces and earrings and buttons to make jewelry.<br />
<br />
I have been buying so much lately that I really need to do a destash of some of it. <br />
<br />
My husband said that I have gone crazy so this will calm him down somewhat. He actually went into my space and started pulling out stuff and saying "look at all this crap, you have gone bananas". (lol) So to make him feel better i'm going to put some of it in my Etsy store.<br />
<br />
I'll be putting some of my stash in the supplies section so if you are interested please check it out. You might just find something that inspires you! You can get to my store <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/sadiejewelrydesign">here</a>. I will be listing some of it tomorrow (4/28/14) hopefully in the morning.<br />
<br />
Now I had better get designing or he'll be back making comments!</div>

So I went ahead and bought a flex shaft to drill found objects. In my rush to finally buy it I forgot to buy the hanger for it so I can't use it until that comes. <br />
<br />
I'm so excited to now have a professional tool to use. I've been buying stuff like crazy. Have to remind myself to stop!!! I'm so excited to begin my new jewelry journey of making jewelry using found objects. So far i've bought quite a few things. Thought i'd share them in pics here.<br />
<br />
My brain is churning with ideas. Here's a look at some of the new things i've bought or as the instructor would say, found objects:<br />
<br />
<br />
This is a long post but i'm so thrilled with what I've found in the way of found objects lately.<br />
<br />
Some MOP buttons, some with rhinestones:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgck-TKL-ox5xgh5dHRqX_pu73YCtqBoa8IZ9WW_SpKtrfkIpS16LIqtL40qiuCTLUfcoDaweuymhfC9p_CxIbb2zAXiDZY84i38X0nihVaWwHc-4-Yt4Vc0837Q5zSLUotbr8YrCL4SOY/s1600/IMG_1459.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgck-TKL-ox5xgh5dHRqX_pu73YCtqBoa8IZ9WW_SpKtrfkIpS16LIqtL40qiuCTLUfcoDaweuymhfC9p_CxIbb2zAXiDZY84i38X0nihVaWwHc-4-Yt4Vc0837Q5zSLUotbr8YrCL4SOY/s1600/IMG_1459.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
A beautiful rhinestone button:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinbuAK0UGScaDHtj_wqec7c-RuBZCAakGMNjtyp7CngkC36atOr2agzrjm2DZErOwPU78cmghx3hQwkOFq6gARdtzFcZ89y3gSLmcW-_c5898qQ8qJfyD5WqVBdNd8eaCHbm1W-0elksg/s1600/IMG_1491.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinbuAK0UGScaDHtj_wqec7c-RuBZCAakGMNjtyp7CngkC36atOr2agzrjm2DZErOwPU78cmghx3hQwkOFq6gARdtzFcZ89y3gSLmcW-_c5898qQ8qJfyD5WqVBdNd8eaCHbm1W-0elksg/s1600/IMG_1491.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And this beautiful brooch (if you like things like this). I am obsessed with rhinestones as you know if you've read my blog at all. It's got some yellowing which I love but it needs to be cleaned up a bit.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO8mPIxy48GfzPJ3LL-kbT96rcAHixmgh1iSZeU8EObtG31IeCYrOBi-X76_xeUKlpg1gcoSxY0tmwJjSlhsQVFrzFCjCf8rEdO50z2OqOlTfebYHaukLX1tbSNQvYsa88-sIxevKpwUY/s1600/IMG_1463.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO8mPIxy48GfzPJ3LL-kbT96rcAHixmgh1iSZeU8EObtG31IeCYrOBi-X76_xeUKlpg1gcoSxY0tmwJjSlhsQVFrzFCjCf8rEdO50z2OqOlTfebYHaukLX1tbSNQvYsa88-sIxevKpwUY/s1600/IMG_1463.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
And then I bought this creepy little sterling silver crab. I hate things with legs (like spiders). But this little monster was too good a price to leave there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTU1UyIgKBnHwTGN1-P4NU7BAE4fMaiLKdnYTi98pmwy0qjcjYc8fOChQJNGs2sP0LXdbQXIEEgTJl0-WaFUWm1LssvrbFAEUW0fHOO_V41fPT5t94yHiSGl9EREXy3_AYy-sDefXBC_s/s1600/IMG_1465.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTU1UyIgKBnHwTGN1-P4NU7BAE4fMaiLKdnYTi98pmwy0qjcjYc8fOChQJNGs2sP0LXdbQXIEEgTJl0-WaFUWm1LssvrbFAEUW0fHOO_V41fPT5t94yHiSGl9EREXy3_AYy-sDefXBC_s/s1600/IMG_1465.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And then I found this gorgeous rhinestone brooch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK-uHTnn7MJzED1Eq9dJCskxqDLTvc4HccreCuwf252joA0EGobpwplt-q_P9II6lAVjIaTaFMDQwVJrxsq13xpKOS4_WNe2i5DgV-60gKeg_mXOQS75uijCBZqNYCSc2CHWXzH7sPaW8/s1600/IMG_1466.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK-uHTnn7MJzED1Eq9dJCskxqDLTvc4HccreCuwf252joA0EGobpwplt-q_P9II6lAVjIaTaFMDQwVJrxsq13xpKOS4_WNe2i5DgV-60gKeg_mXOQS75uijCBZqNYCSc2CHWXzH7sPaW8/s1600/IMG_1466.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Various rhinestones crowns: (my sister said it's because I think i'm royalty in my pitiful brain). Love, love rhinestone crowns.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6b9B3I_yoV88SBDN9AYI8dHxQefk-w6Q1vQ3wrHx9Q6jU1rDbWSGctY8VB3uACAQFRUsJOiLZ_z7f4dMu0zhcioYYj-YcbRkayCJBgstNg64Oyjf9uvIeRoh-JYQNDxHfdJlXra44xCc/s1600/IMG_1468.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6b9B3I_yoV88SBDN9AYI8dHxQefk-w6Q1vQ3wrHx9Q6jU1rDbWSGctY8VB3uACAQFRUsJOiLZ_z7f4dMu0zhcioYYj-YcbRkayCJBgstNg64Oyjf9uvIeRoh-JYQNDxHfdJlXra44xCc/s1600/IMG_1468.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHIMp8ny8cO6lsVAONGat44Xs5ZV3Fp5EuEnxMNi7NDeEvuQrIr1JtETPv8LRwciEeO8DA2FNgMfj4P_FpjqS452F6O8t_O5Nthp059LQTzHGR3F3Vv_3UTwv2VXYjJ5aUecHBIN5PTic/s1600/IMG_1470.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHIMp8ny8cO6lsVAONGat44Xs5ZV3Fp5EuEnxMNi7NDeEvuQrIr1JtETPv8LRwciEeO8DA2FNgMfj4P_FpjqS452F6O8t_O5Nthp059LQTzHGR3F3Vv_3UTwv2VXYjJ5aUecHBIN5PTic/s1600/IMG_1470.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
And then this vintage brooch. It's worn looking but has all it's "pearls".<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBZT_TdhS8DRgPmylgkkRt-perMmp_cG3v_JdP7Uv4YcDze2hpwIRNuzHPRh2OKdbT9XwWZVSLMb_HFwShXADE3gvS7Esg-8qb5bPzXlVBLhlmcA-jLihRX08RP3IYTfb8xMWigbXUJbg/s1600/IMG_1471.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBZT_TdhS8DRgPmylgkkRt-perMmp_cG3v_JdP7Uv4YcDze2hpwIRNuzHPRh2OKdbT9XwWZVSLMb_HFwShXADE3gvS7Esg-8qb5bPzXlVBLhlmcA-jLihRX08RP3IYTfb8xMWigbXUJbg/s1600/IMG_1471.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This fantastic little colorful pill box. Needs to be cleaned up but it's cute.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgudyD94VKm5umZm4cj20YAMehkFNufdNtqcPzwhUDBzsB2NV7vQisK40nNbAZVH3NNUtVqxqLLu-yOBK5SICvDMg9YzEzMrsaGUaoTvzlVA9uix_XRu48KrZaQSC8Ua9DKFhmD6gYxsWg/s1600/IMG_1479.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgudyD94VKm5umZm4cj20YAMehkFNufdNtqcPzwhUDBzsB2NV7vQisK40nNbAZVH3NNUtVqxqLLu-yOBK5SICvDMg9YzEzMrsaGUaoTvzlVA9uix_XRu48KrZaQSC8Ua9DKFhmD6gYxsWg/s1600/IMG_1479.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
I found this 1980's looking gold toned locket with chain attached. The necklace is in perfect condition.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKAhj-ZeLxo7DnrucV5u1eD9wbZ-WvyD0zqk8C59JtTPvl3DqX6Y0gPGNlD_sMPCOOYpwQH32_PdA1fLCJ4umki-4L_l3GZB-lmG9XRPCA6zBjm6SuG5wL8IECHiAr6z0NzKr98A8yJ6g/s1600/IMG_1473.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKAhj-ZeLxo7DnrucV5u1eD9wbZ-WvyD0zqk8C59JtTPvl3DqX6Y0gPGNlD_sMPCOOYpwQH32_PdA1fLCJ4umki-4L_l3GZB-lmG9XRPCA6zBjm6SuG5wL8IECHiAr6z0NzKr98A8yJ6g/s1600/IMG_1473.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTJ8S9uLebjdjZftm_LCgoF4kzz71ESZBSMXkjL8zM_w3seOZB2gTNzAGZkfYVXbJXnLZvaH77iaMQUIn41a19hyphenhyphenhtluuLXT1kWtvxjK-siW19u3-wpSYY0OeGUREEPAuq6u5wvsfW34/s1600/IMG_1476.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKTJ8S9uLebjdjZftm_LCgoF4kzz71ESZBSMXkjL8zM_w3seOZB2gTNzAGZkfYVXbJXnLZvaH77iaMQUIn41a19hyphenhyphenhtluuLXT1kWtvxjK-siW19u3-wpSYY0OeGUREEPAuq6u5wvsfW34/s1600/IMG_1476.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Then there's this gorgeous locket that looks to be enameled. I love the decoration. It's missing a pearl but I like it anyway.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I found this steel-cut starfish in a thrift store and had to have it. It needs to be cleaned up too. I think it will make a really pretty and unique necklace. Can't wait to try.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcvZ7F2fuxJq12H8dTMtfTY-2U9p3S4na0b9A4aO8rO37g30Pt2T7kuOdn3Kki5reLO7s23ymii9H7Joau909Ypx5-8xHRqWhJFxunyLAXb-EM1nR8Kzb37ExMwc2RfnY14AWloV4qyO8/s1600/IMG_1480.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcvZ7F2fuxJq12H8dTMtfTY-2U9p3S4na0b9A4aO8rO37g30Pt2T7kuOdn3Kki5reLO7s23ymii9H7Joau909Ypx5-8xHRqWhJFxunyLAXb-EM1nR8Kzb37ExMwc2RfnY14AWloV4qyO8/s1600/IMG_1480.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Another pill box. Brass with some black and gold etchings on top. Hoping my flex shaft can help me make a really interesting necklace.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhat90UkpJTi72kwRDJusAfigMRlZQpZ8gv_fag06aboH-0S6MwZ-oG0tWmFJ6dYRsru8o0GDB0a_DEnIcGz1R6MjmsRoFHT_ckh_XT0ZNfdXc4Imo_n69vPbuqmZjpyA4VPlDYTV-M_EY/s1600/IMG_1481.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhat90UkpJTi72kwRDJusAfigMRlZQpZ8gv_fag06aboH-0S6MwZ-oG0tWmFJ6dYRsru8o0GDB0a_DEnIcGz1R6MjmsRoFHT_ckh_XT0ZNfdXc4Imo_n69vPbuqmZjpyA4VPlDYTV-M_EY/s1600/IMG_1481.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Another brooch with beautiful detailing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2d9Q0LWC_LLGycb9u8LE2ssuc7iZM8Kfg8LknjwVU28RUBZ_URU0rDrPT_j7YUXBJvyHh0Z-z1yld2BJiGFZviWyUkDxv5aX-QSOqneckwXJJh4bovtcpuyq54d1ZLsb6lq_SDX21EOE/s1600/IMG_1482.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2d9Q0LWC_LLGycb9u8LE2ssuc7iZM8Kfg8LknjwVU28RUBZ_URU0rDrPT_j7YUXBJvyHh0Z-z1yld2BJiGFZviWyUkDxv5aX-QSOqneckwXJJh4bovtcpuyq54d1ZLsb6lq_SDX21EOE/s1600/IMG_1482.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This very pretty mirror with beautiful detailing work on one side and the other side is a mirror<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I found this coin and it made me sad and happy because I love New orleans but of course hate what happened there as does the rest of America. It's gold and on it is written "The city That Care Forgot". So sad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBT1s2zhUP2JTEAWBZYlxOU4I0g9-xDjdXPbxsN78VJrt11uif0CBA79AHDaWfctgzI_cpJ5qrIJCpju_N1ZS1q23Oi-nHQXZk_1-LdSYFkCec6Nm75Hg2Ax2yPUlwx6H8qKPit7iBl-E/s1600/IMG_1487.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBT1s2zhUP2JTEAWBZYlxOU4I0g9-xDjdXPbxsN78VJrt11uif0CBA79AHDaWfctgzI_cpJ5qrIJCpju_N1ZS1q23Oi-nHQXZk_1-LdSYFkCec6Nm75Hg2Ax2yPUlwx6H8qKPit7iBl-E/s1600/IMG_1487.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This cool thing below is fascinating. It's a lipstick called Scarlet Lily.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRuyILt48gJ-j3_-PwcAPGLqFzSE8dFxhZHogxPO2QLJIMKOg_1ChbvJNcSNshFdJsTgqsgL-dzkjpprkv9h0-bu4ogWrE5HjRTF3fUhQyc6dE3oWbc59uqKOBO_y64jmCUrvgB_sRTu4/s1600/IMG_1489.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRuyILt48gJ-j3_-PwcAPGLqFzSE8dFxhZHogxPO2QLJIMKOg_1ChbvJNcSNshFdJsTgqsgL-dzkjpprkv9h0-bu4ogWrE5HjRTF3fUhQyc6dE3oWbc59uqKOBO_y64jmCUrvgB_sRTu4/s1600/IMG_1489.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The case is highly decorated. The tube is brass and has some lipstick smudges on the outside which can be cleaned up. Don't you love it?!!! I figure I can use the top to make a necklace. We'll see.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2fIM_X0I1ctZZlQ9rMr8-Pib_Z-ygEXJTFg3h6tg-AX7SQFXD95VO4A8ACM0ecESvyRB8eY4GI5ClijiUhPmCDuAFqHbaxjiXgFf8DSIh5NZ9-ybtPqrPu4rAFzPJNBo63kEv9ZiOMSI/s1600/IMG_1488.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2fIM_X0I1ctZZlQ9rMr8-Pib_Z-ygEXJTFg3h6tg-AX7SQFXD95VO4A8ACM0ecESvyRB8eY4GI5ClijiUhPmCDuAFqHbaxjiXgFf8DSIh5NZ9-ybtPqrPu4rAFzPJNBo63kEv9ZiOMSI/s1600/IMG_1488.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I finally found a tiny little leather coin purse. I can't wait to try this new technique I learned in class on it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCUy5O8XXmYaLYcbCZUwHW0wN5RFRXhvNCM7aBRVRkRd2gX6A4Y_FUB39bLM3KJ8XeJJZWrhdA1Lj4LQG-8hb1RMY0S4dfBBrKurIxuGTvxg_RGEnXZ19SsqX1J2p_d3xv4-SfJk1cd74/s1600/IMG_1500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCUy5O8XXmYaLYcbCZUwHW0wN5RFRXhvNCM7aBRVRkRd2gX6A4Y_FUB39bLM3KJ8XeJJZWrhdA1Lj4LQG-8hb1RMY0S4dfBBrKurIxuGTvxg_RGEnXZ19SsqX1J2p_d3xv4-SfJk1cd74/s1600/IMG_1500.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I also found this steel cut peacock. It looks almost like marcasite and the brooch says Germany on the back. It's not sterling but it's some type of metal. Love it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC8OBEwV7byqK9DrB7uAgT6jNyLBXSiVjM-cCUhxXoYESl9vNhoK1vYUO_JIA1lYYPnuy7WFW6XVOBWHVwkoXbOh8sjjw7VPxZdDJ8zqbFpW6oG0tpK-Y2e1oWUyFZYVzcPvkY4J2FIE4/s1600/IMG_1492.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC8OBEwV7byqK9DrB7uAgT6jNyLBXSiVjM-cCUhxXoYESl9vNhoK1vYUO_JIA1lYYPnuy7WFW6XVOBWHVwkoXbOh8sjjw7VPxZdDJ8zqbFpW6oG0tpK-Y2e1oWUyFZYVzcPvkY4J2FIE4/s1600/IMG_1492.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This little pendant is marcasite and sterling. I think that's onyx.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIAK1OT-qS59odZJUlPMONyIlrNb9WOkWzWFrJ0LwtWf6M00R04DMtWFGNIQC4wZKfg1EpXL72GBMNEnS8GCoQRksvxG_hTDVOlesK6RrJwAeuxVmguww8yZxvVjQJOXJgEr2jl4Ia51U/s1600/IMG_1496.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIAK1OT-qS59odZJUlPMONyIlrNb9WOkWzWFrJ0LwtWf6M00R04DMtWFGNIQC4wZKfg1EpXL72GBMNEnS8GCoQRksvxG_hTDVOlesK6RrJwAeuxVmguww8yZxvVjQJOXJgEr2jl4Ia51U/s1600/IMG_1496.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is an earring. The large stone in the middle is loose so will have to glue it back. But you can't tell but it's all rhinestones at the bottom. I have the pair.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAyH33Fi_qL9aYxAeqCQK5IC_l99XSzTW0q-DlaSB5U9VNe49KR6PNfOOQehUP27ucSVORgNBjBAUQnVrPZksF5Pg-5VOBadQ9zvphonDduSokHOnAcRsJxa5SMhoY6BHQTdZtLowDvNw/s1600/IMG_1498.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAyH33Fi_qL9aYxAeqCQK5IC_l99XSzTW0q-DlaSB5U9VNe49KR6PNfOOQehUP27ucSVORgNBjBAUQnVrPZksF5Pg-5VOBadQ9zvphonDduSokHOnAcRsJxa5SMhoY6BHQTdZtLowDvNw/s1600/IMG_1498.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
That's all. I am having a blast searching for things to make jewelry. Now the task is to begin making.<br />
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing these things.<br />

Tomorrow is the last day of our jewelry design class and i'm really sad. But have to move on I guess and put what I learned into practice. I've been busy making Easter jewelry for some folks(I know there's no such thing as Easter jewelry). Anyway here they are:<br />
<br />
I made this one for my bestie. Got the pre-made chain from Michael's last year. The copper cross is a vintage piece I picked up at an antique mall and I had the red briollettes for awhile.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg465UvyJLx0kC9dSTG1qAVYvo56U8jDqO9p1aJ-Cvx_B6kxjNEs64Y2Y3AEaMs8oHq7Enmk1THIYL89MYOwi146iMGdMNqgu6gQ5e5eJPlqa8dq2wwu8hrKwOiM0J0LjJAWECz7exdCPw/s1600/IMG_1424.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg465UvyJLx0kC9dSTG1qAVYvo56U8jDqO9p1aJ-Cvx_B6kxjNEs64Y2Y3AEaMs8oHq7Enmk1THIYL89MYOwi146iMGdMNqgu6gQ5e5eJPlqa8dq2wwu8hrKwOiM0J0LjJAWECz7exdCPw/s1600/IMG_1424.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's the back: <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEU_8ORUdMxIWvXRCAXGjgrDjRJRPGzwDlEn9753z7RzqR0O9LN3puN0yaf_jXXJROFfFl2-2v3om-MVQ1dtUt373kQd-NlXeJrK51ZlQO2pKD3btlIjfRi3MmuvpBjgDFWq7xEWpw41c/s1600/IMG_1426.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEU_8ORUdMxIWvXRCAXGjgrDjRJRPGzwDlEn9753z7RzqR0O9LN3puN0yaf_jXXJROFfFl2-2v3om-MVQ1dtUt373kQd-NlXeJrK51ZlQO2pKD3btlIjfRi3MmuvpBjgDFWq7xEWpw41c/s1600/IMG_1426.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I got the reproduction medal from a seller on ebay.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then there's this one I made for my mother. It's made of faceted garnets(her birthstone), a vintage rhinestone button and a silver toned cross that I darkened with Novocan Black to give it some contrast to the blingy button.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhn7_FmeqbaFj9i0DCpWSWc4xmM7ZS4jfVvAxs18Yv9Y923KQ0Iaj0_JTTKvJ6KaMdkwDs46AUAs3kbrne_pdUjvTU5vAo-jZqZ1ecvc67OgzV9T963Bta0J7SF0f_BTrFh-bgt-B0cP4/s1600/IMG_1419.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhn7_FmeqbaFj9i0DCpWSWc4xmM7ZS4jfVvAxs18Yv9Y923KQ0Iaj0_JTTKvJ6KaMdkwDs46AUAs3kbrne_pdUjvTU5vAo-jZqZ1ecvc67OgzV9T963Bta0J7SF0f_BTrFh-bgt-B0cP4/s1600/IMG_1419.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrfjprumx6e0Pwu3xCnkBhUXgNLf6JExwZnS7jy0G66GxsBizZNlFMtnBwSjvcsafXrfZFmJUq21sdtqJeqDBBT7JTL5IIXUO8hbZIka_aADDaViXKVlc_PZQIONC2gVS-wRbtRG-Pnyg/s1600/IMG_1418.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrfjprumx6e0Pwu3xCnkBhUXgNLf6JExwZnS7jy0G66GxsBizZNlFMtnBwSjvcsafXrfZFmJUq21sdtqJeqDBBT7JTL5IIXUO8hbZIka_aADDaViXKVlc_PZQIONC2gVS-wRbtRG-Pnyg/s1600/IMG_1418.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the back :</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJq8nsjTbARsS62hg2n2Owvcy5_0b7qF6vT8YNt7AvpQUxlIvHAe9qx5I0rsezo8L1CVkq79znPehCXCy9T3BKsBQI5ptjT4lLkoIz7CBi5K4lPA921muCS8JZg9DqALPvn6PXg7XiUI/s1600/IMG_1431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJq8nsjTbARsS62hg2n2Owvcy5_0b7qF6vT8YNt7AvpQUxlIvHAe9qx5I0rsezo8L1CVkq79znPehCXCy9T3BKsBQI5ptjT4lLkoIz7CBi5K4lPA921muCS8JZg9DqALPvn6PXg7XiUI/s1600/IMG_1431.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I fancied it up with a rhinestone clasp i've had since 2000 and of course another religious medal (I am now obsessed with these things).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I made these earrings for myself. I found these really old mother of pearl connectors and some eighties looking earrings with some beautiful marcasite-looking crosses hanging from them. I took them apart and decided to put the MOP and the crosses together with red crystals. They turned out really pretty if I must say so myself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So there you have it. I'm really excited to see what other creations I come up with due to the stuff i've learned. I love learning new things. It gets my mind going and thinking. Well, i'm off to Facebook with my other classmates for the last time. It's been fun!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As always comments are appreciated.</div>

I really do hate that the Alchemy of Objects class is almost at it's end. I have so enjoyed getting opinions from the instructor and ll the other students in the class. Since I started late I won't be able to complete all the making challenges before April 20th. That is a real bummer.<br />
<br />
But I have to say it this is the first online jewelry making class i've taken and it was really a blast. The format with technique videos, design process videos and the Facebook chat portion have been great learning tools. I have gone over and over the videos to make sure that I have the techniques down pat to continue to build my skill level.<br />
<br />
I have finished another piece that I will be posting to the class Facebook site for critique. The challenge is for texture and I only have one big piece that is very textured. I didn't have anything else to add so I let that big rock speak for itself:<br />
<br />
<br />
It's a huge amethyst rock almost druzy like. There are blue and grey and white striations surrounding the rock which I love. Since I don't have any beads that are textured I just wire wrapped it together using polished amethyst nuggets and clear glass coin beads. It's assymetrical in that both sides are a bit different. I hung a coin bead at the bottom to tie it in with the ones in the body of the necklace.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrtLBl2k3SHDizJE59hE32mWCOk94zbtS3G4zN-Nyoq2Og50CYyJ10qy6u-rb2-3rb8qwSiH0QYvFYjJPgazip6hLVbYBghY8OH8QKfk7pPFlQSicuu-vtVKvfZANR-UVbAMV3YiDMG70/s1600/IMG_1382.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrtLBl2k3SHDizJE59hE32mWCOk94zbtS3G4zN-Nyoq2Og50CYyJ10qy6u-rb2-3rb8qwSiH0QYvFYjJPgazip6hLVbYBghY8OH8QKfk7pPFlQSicuu-vtVKvfZANR-UVbAMV3YiDMG70/s1600/IMG_1382.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
One thing I learned in this class that I have taken to heart is that you should always try and make the back of a necklace as pretty as the front. So the clasp I used for this necklace is a vintage rhinestone clasp with some purple crystals to connect it.<br />
<br />
<br />
This is really difficult to see but it's the best I could do with no light anywhere today. It's basically just 2 coin beads with a polished amethys nugget. Also if you can see I connected the necklace to the clasp using the purple crystal beads. Now to get that jump ring on the right to lay down!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisvuCp5sE1Qhe0H-pnqwsRYFylq7CyfnMrZRRRbgvGodRxmyhOav6XdOLGpz122kUSfpFkvz3gygn9RoFIqTHhXwfdFC0OS48r50dwW77IJmUnqPj2lpA-xeTnxUWiZIKjDaV6cX62CNc/s1600/IMG_1389.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisvuCp5sE1Qhe0H-pnqwsRYFylq7CyfnMrZRRRbgvGodRxmyhOav6XdOLGpz122kUSfpFkvz3gygn9RoFIqTHhXwfdFC0OS48r50dwW77IJmUnqPj2lpA-xeTnxUWiZIKjDaV6cX62CNc/s1600/IMG_1389.jpg" height="320" width="192" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's a closeup of the amethyst pendant:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Ia_getEb9L6_Gc5oQtor0cx4Bnl4dKrg05iYJ9m_mfIvrdNAPc54O1iGIxhIvXlNyDLEKskrpkQaTw7I6y1qcs1lJbg2N_KUfcM8SK5DiBX92C5L9JOUSubDHxeqhyMg06YGHW6xwIA/s1600/IMG_1404.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Ia_getEb9L6_Gc5oQtor0cx4Bnl4dKrg05iYJ9m_mfIvrdNAPc54O1iGIxhIvXlNyDLEKskrpkQaTw7I6y1qcs1lJbg2N_KUfcM8SK5DiBX92C5L9JOUSubDHxeqhyMg06YGHW6xwIA/s1600/IMG_1404.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I know these pictures aren't that great but I think you get the idea of how beautiful this rock is.<br />
<br />
The instructor Deryn Mentock is offering a two week extension of this course for those of us who wish to have a little more time and i'm really considering doing the extension. It's a nominal cost and i believe it would be worth it. We will see.<br />
<br />
I you would like to check out Ms Mentock's blog you can do so <a href="http://somethingsublime.typepad.com/">here</a>. The next class she's offering is how to construct a jewelry journal. This lady is a fantastic teacher and very thorough in what she offers to students. I can't wait for her class on bezel making which may not be offered for a while since she taught it last in September 2013 (sad face). <br />
<br />
Anyway hope you enjoy looking at my attempts to improve my skills and as always comments are welcomed.<br />

I am truly loving The Alchemy of Objects online class I have been taking. I started really late but I was so desparate to take it I went ahead and registered. <br />
<br />
I am so glad that I did because some of the techniques I am learning are well worth the money (not that it was that much money).<br />
<br />
In part of the class the challenge was to make a focal for a necklace using a fabric piece. Since I didn't want to go out and buy something I used a little piece that I already had. It's similar to a military patch and the stripes are a mauvy pink.<br />
<br />
I had some pink crystals and some really pretty matte pink crystal beads. The beads are really pretty and have a sparkle to them. We are also tasked with making a symmetrical piece. So this combines both a fabric focal and symmetry. <br />

<br />
<br />
I also added a religious medal cause I couldn't resist. The instructor, Deryn Mentock, uses all sorts of religious pieces because that is part of who she is. I am now fascinated with using them whenever I can because my religious belief is also a part of who I am. I love the idea. <br />
<br />
Now, please don't think that this is a requirement because it's not. You use whatever inspires you. And believe me after recently scouring some of the antique malls in this area there's plenty out there to use as inspiration. <br />
<br />
I just used a jump ring and lobster claw clasp. I felt that since the necklace is really simple that is all that was needed.<br />
<br />
This class has a Facebook page for the students and instructor to chat and ask questions. It is very helpful to have input from the other students as well as from Deryn. I am enjoying this so much and the ideas are just flowing. This lady is a fabulous teacher and it's obvious that she loves teaching and mentoring others.<br />
<br />
So that's the first thing i've finished and i'm kind of proud of it because it sprang from my noggin (head). My 11 year old niece is just begging for it and it will probably be hers. She loves, loves, loves anything pink!! So I knew I would have this issue with her.<br />
<br />
Is this too old for an 11 year old? I'll let her mother decide.<br />
<br />
You can check out Deryn Mentock's blog <a href="http://somethingsublime.typepad.com/">here</a>. It's full of beautiful creations and class information!<br />

So, as I stated in a previous blog post I am getting some incredible lessons in the jewelry design online class i'm taking and I thought i'd show a little bit of what i've learned so far. (you can check out the class in the button on the left) Using a found object I began a necklace for my sister. She is like me when it comes to blingy and flashy and trashy even.<br />
<br />
I have used one of the objects I found at an antique mall. I thought it would make an interesting focal for a necklace. It had some beads attached which I took off. It has kind of a southwest flair but that's not how I am using it. As you can see below it has some type of white stone thingy embedded in it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoB7t4vh2qzJkAOJ2WpoKe1SfwnlFne56FsDl3lL9LgB6JPxCB0tzLT3-3_CrBlSATVFBYKD1adSjzUGqZCiVA4KTxKa10YOGZ6iRcivmla-kz-__mX_7uVeS5OaSpZEQW0ggiznFjS24/s1600/IMG_1326.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoB7t4vh2qzJkAOJ2WpoKe1SfwnlFne56FsDl3lL9LgB6JPxCB0tzLT3-3_CrBlSATVFBYKD1adSjzUGqZCiVA4KTxKa10YOGZ6iRcivmla-kz-__mX_7uVeS5OaSpZEQW0ggiznFjS24/s1600/IMG_1326.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I'm using it with glass crystal beads in black and clear. And, I decided that instead of a Dremel tool that I would buy myself a flex shaft. It wasn't necessarily suggested by the instructor but if I want to continue in this endeavor I decided to go ahead and buy it. For those who don't know, when you use found objects in your pieces they don't always have a hole to attach them. So you need a drill. I went to shop for a Dremel at Lowe's and it just seemed too big to drill small objects to me.<br />
<br />
I looked at the flex shafts and the hand piece fits right into your hand. It's smaller. You can buy a hand piece for your Dremel but you still have to buy the Dremel tool first. That's just my own rationale along with my hubby's.<br />
<br />
I looked on the Fordeham site (a brand of flex shaft) and the one my instructor did say she used and I was not about to fork over more than $300.00!! So as I always do I checked the Amazon site. And they had the model I was interested in for about $100.00 less. So that is where I bought it. It does have a 2 year manufacturer's warranty so I feel a bit better about the purchase. I can't wait to get it.<br />
<br />
I also ordered the mini drill bits for metal and I ordered some diamond bits that are used to drill stone, pearls and shell. Apparently it's very bad for your health to breath in the dust from those materials.<br />
<br />
So now, I removed the beads from my object and plan on drilling holes for my crystal chains to attach. <br />
<br />
Here's a little lay-out of how I plan to put this necklace together:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNn9NYxQlM8HpKHY2n2mEyFKSHfD9wd-0ASgGeiUA3-luMU8bo6tNPpOB8aP9ZjdGjorU03K0qvxxeO8bzIfxJ0kFyEiVui41l_K-gAbW1kqKx1YzRI-3RjcAbCm_OnXhruyqtWiCB0Xw/s1600/IMG_1356.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNn9NYxQlM8HpKHY2n2mEyFKSHfD9wd-0ASgGeiUA3-luMU8bo6tNPpOB8aP9ZjdGjorU03K0qvxxeO8bzIfxJ0kFyEiVui41l_K-gAbW1kqKx1YzRI-3RjcAbCm_OnXhruyqtWiCB0Xw/s1600/IMG_1356.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I know this is a bad photo but it's been so cloudy! This is what I have so far. The large black focal bead is just a black faceted glass stone. <br />
<br />
But I think you can kind of tell where I need to drill the holes. I think that metal focal piece is a tin material. I will drill the holes soon when my flex shaft arrives this week. I can't wait to get started and hope it turns out okay. That's all I have so far.<br />
<br />
As always comments are welcomed. Thanks for visiting and wish me luck.<br />

So I am so glad that I decided to take this class. As I said in a previous post the class is called the Alchemy of Objects and is being taught by a wonderful designer named Deryn Mentock. Her style is awesome! Check out her blog <a href="http://somethingsublime.typepad.com/">somethingsublime.typepad.com</a>.<br />
<br />
I have learned so much in such a short time. A lot of theory about symmetry, asymetry, color, balance and a lot of her techniques. What i'm really happy about is learning to use found objects in jewelry making. I'm looking at a lot of things in a new way now and am obsessed with scouring antique malls and thrift shops and ebay and all sorts of other places.<br />
<br />
I have several projects in the works but I don't really want to show them until they are completed or almost completed. This class has changed my whole outlook on jewelry making.<br />
<br />
We'll see what happens with my style. I'm so excited that I have completely put my job search on hold. I eat, drink and sleep this class and ideas are just flowing. It's a whole new feeling for me. And it's great!<br />
<br />
I'm now in the process of getting a flex shaft for drilling and a number of other tools that I need. I've learned a lot about different wire and how to put things together to make them very sturdy. One thing that has changed my outlook is to also pay attention to the back of your piece. It just gives it a finished look. Deryn talks about all of this in the class.<br />
<br />
Deryn gave us lists of suppliers that she uses, as well as where to get certain supplies. <br />
<br />
Drilling and altering objects is worth the price of admission alone.<br />
<br />
Needless to say I would definitely recommend anyone interested in found object jewelry making should be on the lookout for this class being given again.<br />
<br />
Another fantastic thing about this class is that all of the students have access to a facebook page where we get to ask Deryn and other students questions. We can also upload our finished projects to this page and get great advice and even some praise form the others in class. It's just fantastic.<br />
<br />
So now I will stop but again, do take a look at Deryn's blog It just might inspire you too. Also I have her book: The Alchemy of Objects where she talks a lot about technique and altering objects. It's a great book and even if you don't like her style of jewelry you can learn some really great techniques to put into your own arsenal for your own type of jewelry.<br />
<br />
Well, back to obsessing for me!!<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by.<br />
